I can get a better deal if I go with a reseller, but I'm kinda worried since it's a reseller. I would feel a little more safe buying directly from the Sager website.

Any thoughts/suggestions to change my mind?

P.S. if I were to go to a reseller, I would go to LPC since it's already here in Las Vegas where I am.

    Thanks in advance!

Just research each reseller. Look up their BBB and ResellerRatings.com reviews, and I'm sure you'll find one who you feel comfortable with. Most users on this forum purchase from resellers. Like you said, you can get a better deal - plus you'll get better support.

Buying from Sager directly is not a good idea. Their customer service to individual on a one on one basis is not great. Read the forum here and you'll see plenty of stories supporting that. A reseller will give you a much better service and in the event of a warranty issue will be able to assist you since they are big customers to sager/Clevo.

    Thanks for the responses guys!

And I checked out LPC Digital Resellerratings.com and it's excellent!! 5 stars from 30 different people!

I'm going to contact Larry from LPC, I also hear he actively posts here on the forums.

Yeah the guys who post here are all pretty dang helpful. Don't be afraid though, the reseller ratings are there to address this issue directly!

I ended up going with Mythlogic just because the walked me through setting up a couple systems I needed to revamp the office. No regrets on going with a reseller here.

Reseller, DON'T go to Sager. They have a F rating with the BBB. I went with XoticPC but LPC was up there for me too.

This is the important part (in bold) for other people reading this. To clarify further, if you buy from a Sager reseller and the warranty options specify it has a Sager warranty for parts and labour, then it is Sager that will fix your laptop, not the reseller. They may assist you though in your dealings with Sager.

Under some circumstances, such diagnosing a problem with your system you will be talking directly with Sager representatives. This is logical as sometimes trying to find out what the problem is requires emailing or talking directly to Sager on an on-going basis. In these cases going through a middleman to contact Sager is cumbersome to say the least.

Note that some Sager resellers will offer a limited warranty (default) option, e.g. the default warranty on the laptop config. page: which may say that 3 years labour (provided by the reseller) and 1 year parts (provided by Sager). However the other warranties options may be totally provided by Sager, e.g. Sager 2 years parts and labour. In the first option the reseller should do the repair for you, i.e. you send it to directly to them. In the other case you would send directly to Sager for repair .

Personally I think that the warranty is quite an important aspect of buying a laptop (especially when you are dropping a ton of money on it). Best thing is to ask the reseller (here I also included Clevo resellers) questions about their warranties (by email) before buying, especially if it isn't very clear, perhaps due to obscure legal language. This should hopefully prevent any unpleasant surprises in the unfortunate event something happens.
