 ok so i configured from Sagernotebook.com and xoticpc.com.. There is about $30 cheaper at xoticpc now also since sager is based out of CA and Xotic is in NE ( I'm in Virginia ) Does that really matter? but the big question is will the end result be the same? from buying from either or is there a difference i looked at reseller ratings didnt really help much i guess most ppl buy from resellers like Xotic just really want to know if i will get the same product delivered in a nice timely fashion.. intact... haha :D

Buying from a reseller is generally better because you get any perks the reseller offers (for example, lots of Sager resellers offer 24/7 tech support).

Ive Bought from xotic PC before, I bought my first custom built desktop from them, Their nice, helpful etc. I think i was helped by Jason, I got my desktop within 2 weeks.

But if i were to buy a notebook or desktop i would go to delloutlet.com there are some ridiculus deals there sometimes.

Buying from a Reseller is better... because of 24/7 tech support.... who the #($ are you? WHO DOESNT HAVE 24/7 Tech support ?

I like buying from dell (XPS) Their XPS support is amazing , first ring pickup most of the time, american reps that know their ****. Xoticpc is alright, I wouldnt ever buy a notebook there again, i purchased a sager that turned out to be a 97' de-commissioned, re-branded alienware case, with desktop parts in it.

Go with the vostro 1700 or something, or get an asus, 1 year of free accidental damage protection on any notebook.

Plenty of companies either don't offer 24/7 support, or only offer off-shore support. Sager only offers Pacific business hours support.

Incidentally, if you got a notebook that was supposed to be new but actually turned out to be refurbished, maybe you should have actually contacted Xotic to find out what happened.

I'd be interested to know how they got "desktop parts" in a "97' de-commissioned, re-branded alienware case," though.

You DO know that Alienware sold Clevo systems for a long time, right?

I went with XOTIC PC (they ROCK) they processed my order, got a rush job, over night shipping and got it in 4 buisness days 1 day early. I work out of the country and didn't want it shipped to my location. They have excellent tech support and are very easy to work with. The other place just laughed and then said they didn't have some of the parts.
