I don't know the answer to the first one, but
MALIBAL laptops ship with a MALIBAL logo on them. If you would rather, you can order a laptop without a logo and then decorate the lid to your heart's content.![]()

The "brandname" is Malibal, the model is "Lotus". Systems ordered through Malibal, get a Malibal logo -- unless you specify that you don't want any logo.
If you want it to say "Sager" then order your system from Xotic PC, or PowerNotebooks, or GenTech, etc, as they sell the "Sager" brand.
Either way, they are the same machine, by a different name, but both are spelled C-L-E-V-O. -
malibal offers the lowest prices on clevos = value for money
super ultra high-end Ferrari-grade name plate of "malibal" on the back = good looking logo, instead of just a "sager sticker"
(edited it since malibal think im trolling)

Uh... forget this post.

yeah you are better off getting what you want up front and going for the p150hm.
edit: cheesy, soon you will have a different title under your name! -

Wow, I leave for a couple weeks and audy has post numbers similar to mine. He must have lived on these forums.
Also, Malibal, your website's builder pages don't load. I just tried, and I get an error. The rest of your site seems fine. -
They're working for me - maybe try again in a couple minutes.
-
why buy from Malibal?
Because they have the coolest sounding name--and thus the coolest logo on your notebook. -
At least somebody knows what the score is.

I think you got the wrong guy mate. I'm a married father of two who sleeps next to a woman every night whether I drink or not.
My days of drinking bad beer ended when I left college. I now enjoy the finer things in life like Ommegang, Lagunitas, Cricket Hill and Duvel.
Here's a hilarious video of Rick Reed, the Brew Master at Cricket Hill (which is about 10 minutes from my house) talking about the American beer industry and Budweiser/Coors/Miller. He speaks much truth! Just because you don't drink much doesn't mean you have to drink crap when you actually do drink! -

So I ask,
1. Does Malibal price match Sager re-sellers? I know your post states you have a low price guarantee, but I still feel obliged to ask.
2. Does Malibal guarantee the model screen that comes with their Clevo machines? This refers directly to the P151HM1 and the AUO B156HW01 V1 (stock) and the AUO B156HW01 V5 (95% Gamut Matte Upgrade) screens offered by Sager re-sellers.
3. Last, but not least, is the ram deal 4x2 GB or 2x4 GB and what brand does Malibal typically install for their ram. If they offer Crucial, that will be a deal breaker for me. Crucial cost me a couple hundred dollars a few years back by not honoring their lifetime warranty and I took a vow to never purchase a product from them again.
Thank you. -
-
1. They do pricematch but with their ram discount promotion (which works with the 2x4 and 4x2 selections) and free shipping, they get cheaper for a few bucks than others (i think).
2. This one...i dont know...oh well...
3. Answered in #1 and terminus123 helped too -
1. Not only will we price match, we will beat any advertised price of an identical notebook / warranty.
2. Yes, we guarantee those are the same screens that we use in our notebooks.
3. Our RAM Promotion is available on any selection. So the minimum would be 2 X 4GB. Also, we use Samsung and Kingston memory.
Lastly, once you get 5 posts on the forums - you can PM us for other discounts, if you are interested. -
Thank you. -
I think you need another heatsink for the 6970M, I could be wrong though :S
The 6970M is being phased out for the more powerful 6990M. It costs more, but you get more. -
Altered Phoenix Notebook Evangelist
I just bought a P151HM1 (It is amazing!) and I know that if I wanted to upgrade my gpu to the 485m or the 6970 I would need to buy a new heatsink (which I'm sure MALIBAL would help me with) and I would need to get the 180W power adapter.
If you get the P150HM then IU believe you would only need the new gpu since it already has the 180w power supply and stronger heatsink. -
you would also need the proper heatsink to go with the new gpu too.

Has anyone dealt with the customer care from either xotic or malibal? I'm assuming they're better than dell but is it a relatively painless process to get something fixed if it's under warranty?
-
Also, the process for returning a notebook for service is very simple. All you need to do is contact us via phone, chat, PM or email (all of our customer service is based in the US), request an RMA number, and then we will email you the return instructions and a prepaid shipping label to cover the shipping costs. It couldn't be easier. -
Seems like both companies have a solid reputation in the community!

If I can help with anything don't hesitate to ask -
I just bought today, and was impressed that MALIBAL had folks answering email on Saturday.
Both are active on the forums, and I think either would be a good choice based on BBB ratings and reseller ratings. -

Remember patience is a virtue, some list the pre order of the 6990M now but highly doubtful they will be shipping ahead of Sager resellers. This has been proven over and over again in the past.

We have speculated pricing however we are unable to release any details or pre order until Sager has confirmed the ETA and is ready to proceed with ordering. Pre ordering now is not going to get customers the card sooner unfortunately.

Malibal did have the best price.

Some sellers have difference services available then others.
Buying NP8130/P151HM1, should I buy from XoticPCs or Malibal?
