    Hi Guys,

Have posted something similiar on another thread- but not in regards to buying from a specific retailer.

Anyway - Hi, im Paul, 34 from Scotland, currently with a p150hm - 6990m installed, who is in the process of upgrading to a 7970m.

Have read all the threads on upgrading, so pretty sure on what to expect but i just wanted any feedback on the supplier Notebookbarebone.de

    Has anyone used them before?

    Are they good ? Reliable ? :)

They seem nice but it is always good to get the word of the community first, especially when its an expensive purchase.

No suppliers with just the card in UK just now, so has to be EU.

Can't PM yet, as i am new but a regular member Prema mentioned he was selling some Vbios modded 7970m a few weeks ago - if you are reading Prema, do you have any left and if so can you approach me with a price ?

Would be even better to get a working version from the community for peace of mind etc

Thanks again, and am more of a reader than a poster but will keep you updated :)

    Paul

Great. Where abouts in EU are you ?

What card did you upgrade from ? I have a 6990m currently and P150HM (Vortex 2 from PC specialist UK)

    Paul

P.s. Does payment transfer take time to clear?

    Thanks

    Paul

Is there a high demand to purchase these things separate? I have a 7970m and I want to upgrade to the GTX 680m but I would obviously only do it if I knew I could sell my 7970m.

Think it costs 449 Euro plus shipping unless you are up grading from a nvidia card, in which case it is 499 for the extra fins / brackets etc

I live in Austria and i upgraded from a 6990m and yes i have a P150HM with the newest bios installed (unmodded atm) and yeah the payment took some time i send them the money on friday but they sent me an email they got it on monday

yes it was already premodded just inserted the card without any hassle at all, it booted straight up and i just installed 12.8 WHQL over it voilá, and for the cost question i paid exactly 524 € for it but that included everything

i really have to say the upgrade from the 6990m to the 7970m is really hardcore in terms of fps boost i only play skyrim right now on my PC and full modded even there my 680GTX have issues (mostly memory is getting full) and with my 6990m i only got about 5-10fps indoors maybe 30fps with the full mod package, with the 7970m i have outdoors mostly 40fps and indoors its capped to 60fps only in really heavy firefights it drops to 30fps but i can play it perfectly fluid now . Oh and btw i installed phobya HeGrease thermal paste on it and it maxed the card maxed out at about 88 °C which is nearly 10 °C less than my 6990m WITHOUT OC had (my 6990m was really extremely hotheaded).

That sounds really good. Is there any other way to pay rather than bank transfer to speed things up ? ;)
