    Unfortunately, Sager won't take requests to upgrade an NP5792 with an 8700M to an NP5793. They will only be shipping the NP5793 chassis with notebooks using the 8800M GTX (or the Extreme processor, but we don't know if the 8700M will be offered along with the Extreme at this point).

    Downgrade the ram to 1 gb, and upgrade it yourself. YOu can buy 4gb ram for 80 bucks off of newegg. And use that saved money to upgrade to an 8800m gtx ;)

    Yes, read this post carefully and you will see it is better to update to a blu-ray latter if it is a matter of cost.

    Well okay I can upgrade the ram pretty easy, and I really dont care about the costs of Blu Ray cause it should be easy enough to switch out the optical drive if they increase speeds.

    I do not recommend going with any of the new format drives (Blu-ray or HD DVD). This whole format war is ridiculous and getting worse, when one of the formats win, yes, buy one of them, but wait until it's over.

    Bluetooth is far from useless. There's some great things you can do with cell phones/pdas these days, as well as bluetooth headsets for gaming :)

    @Megabud:

    Bluetooth's usefulness depends a lot on your own needs, but there are bluetooth mice and keyboards, too, which can be handy. My wife and I use Bluetooth to load custom ringtones on our cellphones, too, since that's a lot cheaper (and EASIER) than using the proprietary USB cables that our phones otherwise require.

    Bluetooth is pretty cool. I never use it much except for my wireless mouse. It beats having a USB sensor sticking out of your laptop. That's worth the price alone for me. But if I had a strict budget, I'd probably cut Bluetooth out.

    It doesnt matter cause from the look of way all the studios are switching to Blu Ray then its gonna when anyway, plus I will be downloading mostly HD content so I wanted the Blu ray Burner because the Blu Ray disc has a bigger size, so is that a good enough reason to keep it in my configuration.

    If you note that the original poster is configuring the Sager version of the M570RU, you will realize that the arguments about Bluetooth are moot. It is standard on the Sager NP5792/3.

    So when you switch out optical drives you just hold the sliders on the underside and slide the one you have in out and put the other one in.

    if you are planning on buying this setup later... why not wait and see what new technologies are made available at that time instead of configuring now only to see that when you buy it there are tons of new configurations you could've used that would've been a lot better....

    thats what i think... i wouldnt even worry about 8700 8800 grafix... by march or april theyll prolly come out with an 8800m ultra 4 laptops..

    good things come to those who wait... ««««if i ever say anything important
    ;)

    p.s. keep the bluetooth....who knows u mite want an iPhone or dat Verizon 1 and sync it with ur pc without da hassles of cables...

    @DivineRiku:

    It really is as simple as what you mentioned. It doesn't get much easier than that :D

    Awesome I think I'll just get the Blu Ray drive after I purchase the Sager and get a 8800GTX instead. Is that good

    I would say so :D. You'll get a lot of gaming use out of the 8800M GTX, and you can probably find a Blu-Ray (or HD, if the format war swings back that way) drive cheaper on ebay than any reseller can offer it once you're ready to commit one way or the other.
