Since I can not find any forum for general...
I am in the process of negotiating for a purchase of a laptop on here thru a Individual who wants me to use PayPal friends and family and not service and goods. I mentioned to him that would not protect me if you didnt ship the item and I couldn't get my money back then.
His reply stated
Of course I will have risk. If you pay me using “service and goods” and then request refund from PayPal, how can I prove to PayPal this transaction actually occurred. PayPal will definitely support you.
I said The whole reason you use service and good is to protect the buyer and seller it's really shady if you dont use it just fyi.
So who is in the right and in the wrong here?

Otherwise, look for another seller. -
whoever that filth nonhuman trying to sell you this clevo is a scum, don't trust unless agree with goods&services -
Yep agree
Did the seller say anything about PayPal fee included in price?
If the % fee is the sticking point and you want the laptop and offer to pay it, and they still won't go goods&services... run -

Thanks you for all the responses guy I really appreciate it. He finally agreed that i was right about the goods and services on Friday but never messaged me again about the sale of the laptop. Since then i have been thinking about it for the last 2 days and I went ahead said this to him just now.
I understand but I think i am going to pass, the price is higher then what i can afford and a couple things bother me specifically that you joined here in 2009 only have 102 post which most of them came in the last week / last month.
You then tried to get me to pay you thru friends and family which gives me no buyer protection at all and then you basically accused me saying " Of course I will have risk. If you pay me using “service and goods” and then request refund from PayPal, how can I prove to PayPal this transaction actually occurred. PayPal will definitely support you. " . It is just throwing up a lot of red flags for me.
I realize that you are trying to get your money back for the item you bought but it has lost half of it's warranty and is no long valid to add an extended warranty on it. Most things lose 30% - 40% their value automatically when they are not new anymore in electronics. Also the new processors are coming out next month with 8 cores vs the 6 cores and a higher turbo boost and most likely overclock the 9900k and 9700k. This is gonna make it hard to sell at a higher price tag when the others can be bough for only a few $100 more dollars.
A piece of advice... Make sure you are being a little nicer to people you are selling to the attitude of " I don’t need to sell this laptop. I don’t want risk myself. It’s your choice. You can walk away. " It sounds like you are only looking out for yourself and don't really care about the sale of the item when your the one who has put it up on ebay and on the forums here. If you decide to lower the price tho in the future let me know. I will consider it.
Good luck with your sale. -

I thought I would update this as he offered me a price and I offered him $100 lower then he offered me but instead of saying no thanks. He just straight up lied to me and said this.
Hi,Finally I decide to keep it for my own use. Sorry for the inconvenience.
There is nothing I hate more then a liar this guy says hes gonna keep it but yet he has it listed on ebay still and just lowered it $100 from his $2400 to $2300 today but he offered me $1600 and wont take $1500.. this guy sounds so shady man. I'd be careful with buying from some sellers as you dont know what they might have done to the laptop even if it's perfectly fine I wouldn't buy from this guy for the lack of respect and lying. -
You have no idea mate.
He was literally trying to scam you, you should do the right thing and report him to the platform because of attempted scamming.
Also notifying paypal of his shady business, he likely got a couple of people who paid him money, paypal might be able to give the money back he scammed. -
Well the only thing is he has it listed on Ebay so shouldn't that make him legit?
I just dont understand why he couldn't tell me no to the offer instead of I'll keep it for myself then lower the ebay price down $100.
I thought it was legit because he had it on ebay but man either this guy is a complete idiot who doesnt know how to talk to people by lying and being disrespectful or just is a scammer so not sure if reporting him for being an idiot is correct if hes not really a scammer.
Also if i report him will the mods be able.to read thru my inbox or would I need to copy paste everything cause that's like 6 pages worth on mobile lol -
Also the reason for this is because he wants to scam people. You can send the ebay link in here as well. -
