ust bought an old Clevo M570U with a built in TV tuner but t it doesn't have any of the converter cables / adapters for the CATV jack to RF (which i need for an aerial) which it originally came with but due to buying this laptop off ebay, i don't know what happened to them. I have spent about an hour looking around the internet and cant seem to find any cable or connector which uses the same form as the CATV jack in the back of the M570U / RU / TU, infact in most places a catv jack requires a screw thread etc.

The fitting looks like this (to the right of the DVI port) http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2006/04/rock_xtreme_ctx_notebook/rock7.jpg

All the adaptors i find on the internet have a screw type fitting on and this is smooth.

    Any help would be appreciated

    EDIT: Added correct link

i'd also like to know the answer to this. please can anybody help?

it seems like an absolute waste to have spent money on an PCIe tv tuner and not be able to use this.

@ OP: can you give me the link to the site which you got this picture from (preferable to the exact forum), thanks.

It looks like just a "push on F Connector". It is the same as the threaded F-Connectors (what you normally see used for cable since it can't be knocked off accidentally). Google "push on F Connector" and see if that is what you need.

    Hi henrybutt,

Get the Push on F connector, you will need an adapter for the other side as it will be screw on. If you go to a satellite shop in your area they should be able to hook you up.

You could also make a custom cable

the other alternative is ordering it through clevo.(would have to check on that one)

What you want should be found on this site:
    http://www.wpsantennas.com/coax-adapters-connectors-crimps.aspx

I've bought from them before and they've been good suppliers.
Got a bunch of parts from them for a Sprint EVDO setup a while back.

I can't point out which it is as my 9262 with the adapters I don't have till the end of the week. But just FYI that picture only shows 1 of the 2 adapters you need. If you wanted another end for something other than the supplied aerial (which IMO is junk) you'd need a 3rd adapter.

I "think" what you want is in the UHF section there (Scroll down) but again I'm not sure till I get my adapters back.

Check 75 Ohm Coaxial Connector as a possibility. Look at the connector on the left.

Arteest, would you happen to know the name of the connector on the left? 75 Ohm Coaxial Connector only seems to bring up the cable, not the actual connector.

For the OP.... here's my best guess so take it as you will.

First connector I think is a N/Male to F/Female 'push on' coax adapter.
The F side is threaded for a screw on from standard coax cable, like RG6, etc.
May also be a F Pin/Male to F/Female - but this is hard to tell.

Second connector I think is a BNC/Female to F Pin/Male 'push on' coax adapter. Both sides are push on style, no threads.

What I'd suggest you do is try and find a retailer, email them the pics I'm going to post below, and explain what you are trying to replace. They should have enough info to go on that they can work something together. WPS as I said before were pretty easy to deal with.

Contact a reseller or Sager and ask to buy some adapters.

When you say it doesn't work...what is not working about it? Can you elaborate? JGZinv's idea is probably the best.

When you say "CATV to RF" what do you mean?
Please describe what you want to do?
Do you want to watch over the air broadcasts? Or Cable TV?
    What country are you in?

Just need connector like this one: [IMG]
When I finaly buy it, I can buy Avermedia A301 as well.
Xotic, sager, clevo don't care if I need it or not. They don't sell it and don't give you a hint. So, I need it to connect external antenna.

Hi Prime. I want to connect antenna or cable TV to notebook, so maybe "CATV to RF" is not so exact description of my missing connector for Sager NP5793.
    I'm in Czech republik now.
    thanks

Yes, you are right. Conenctors come with card in aopen package, but there must be another way to buy it. There is also some variant with MC770A including remote controll, but I'm not sure if Yuan have software support of some TV softwares like cyberhome, etc.
It's why I prefer Avermedia A301 with one of this connector. Maybe faster sollution is to change whole connector on motherboard :D

Do you have a card now?
As I see it it is just a matter of connecting the signal and the ground to the right spots on the mini board?
Do you have amateur radio guys in the Czech republik? Like American HAM radio?

If you look at the Aopen card picture I linked You will see small coaxial wires with brass ends. The tv card as small screw on coax cable that connect, inside the laptop, to the 'backside' of the connector you took a picture of. It looks like one just slides the threaded end of the 'TV Cable' into the 'frontside' of your connector.

Can you take a picture of the 'TV signal wire' you want to connect to?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_cable

Can you identify what TV Cable is used in the Czech Republik?
