The Clevo D900k's socket is socket 939. You should be able to pop in your CPU from your desktop in there.

I think you should be aware that Santa Rosa will be release in rougly one month. It will include a new range of processor, whuch should be slightly faster in processor dependant tasks, but more importantly, DX10 graphics card will also be released by that time. Although the high end Go 8800 will not be release, the Go 8600 will be.

If you want more graphical power, then you should consider waiting for the newer Clevo notebooks. Those notebooks are the M570RU and D900C. Both look very good on paper, and you may want to consider researching abit on them.

i would really recommend to get the Clevo M570U (a.k.a. Sager 5760, Aviator CX7, etc..).

Even though i have a Clevo D900K (since March 2006) and am happy with it. The newer M570U will give you a better performance and pricing overall.... not to mention that it will be still current.... while the D900K is about to get phased-out like its D900T brother.

Note: the main reason I got my notebook back in March 2006, was because it was the only dual-core notebook available at the time and came with a high-end 7800GTX.

If I were to get a gaming notebook now, I would definitely take a look at the M570U....

or wait for the upcoming D900C or M570RU, which will support high-end DX10 videocards when available.

they are the same notebook, so I would recommend to get it from one of the great Sager resellers:
-- and more in the Clevo Guide.

Nothing against Hypersonic PC, but if the prices are the same, then you would get better support and service through one of the listed Sager resellers.

sorry, but i do not think that they [PowerNotebooks] will ship to Canada... but XoticPC will and so will RJtech.com.

If you are in Canada, I would highly recommend to contact (call them) www.eurocom.com (based in Toronto)

they will price-match any of the Sager specs.. or usually beat the prices.
