@John@OBSIDIAN-PC —
Adding here that I also just experienced a no-warning hard shutdown. I booted immediately and chip temps were well within reason. I hadn't touched FC at all, I was in Chrome typing when this happened.

John,
Just a thought i use throttlestop auto booting with windows (managed by control station app - throttlestop folder within control station folder structure) at the same time. Could this be a cause ?
Also it seems sporadic. Last night after experiencing a problem power off and immediately changing to EC automatic for an hour i changed back to Manual mode again and my p870 dm3 has idled for 24 hours now with no problem. It really is hard to reproduce this at will.

We have proven on various occasions that you can have a certain undervolt value and your system is 100% stable, you can throw anything at it and it can run stable for years.
Now I can assure you and PROVE to you that the same stable system can be compromised by just adding an extra device or driver or even a new running software.
Yeah weird right?
Anything that will run kernel level functions can create bsods or simply crash the system.
We have found stuff that throws those if you have too much undervolt even though everything else is/was stable before.
So why does that happens? Why does an extra piece of software now requires more voltage even tough before it you could load the system at 100% and it was stable?
Well, I lack the appropriate knowledge to explain this, I just know I can reproduce it with ease.

It's a pity but until this is fixed in the PA71ES, I cannot buy Fan Control. :/ -

Another note: since switching away from the suite and installing the individual apps, I again have to stop and restart Keyboard LED whenever I sleep the computer to turn off the keyboard lights. -

Im just finishing hacking my way around the new Insyde BIOS ( yeah N140ZU now uses Insyde ).
So I need to hack it to add my logos and OEM info because CLEVO ... Bahhh
On the good side, it's done, a full day of work but it's done.

Hi,
I've got a p750zm and am desperately trying to get nvme boot support - will your driver update utility update the bios to provide this at all? The only way I've found so far is to get a @Prema mod bios but unfortunately I've not been able to chat to the guy
Thanks

For anybody who has a weird problem like mine, (current throttle while at idle, even on stock clocks, or just a 3.9Ghz downclock with no obvious warning or throttle) turns out it was a combo of running FC and having sleep (after 10min or whatever) enabled and also ‘turn off display’ enabled. So far so good without those enabled, although I haven’t tested it extensively yet...

Something happened after updating the drivers (with Updater), and now I can't change the color of my keyboard with KeyBoard LED... Turning on or off in the application does not affect anything. How can I fix it?

Though if you do so happen to come across an updated BIOS for a p750zm around let me know
Cheers

Is the keyboard LED matching CPU/GPU temps feature coming back at some point, or is it no longer possible with the more efficient method used by FC2?

Just wanted to report that the KeyboardLED software never updates correctly for me.
I have to force it closed "End the application" and right click and run as administrator manually to do the update process.
This is the only component of the software that I have to do this for, everything else updates correctly every time.
It has been like this since the software was released. I have even deleted the directory and started all over again, never resolved it.
Pretty annoying to have to do that every time I want to pull down the update. -
With the newer versions of your apps they've started storing settings in C:/Users/<Username>/Documents/LaptopTools, is it possible to change this or have an option to change this in the future; because I have the location of my Documents folder on my second disk drive and so I end up with 2 Documents folders

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC
Hello!
Everything working so far as intended, but I noticed some strange behaviour of Windows lately. It started to go to sleep, even if in ControlStation and power options, sleep is set to "Never" on both plugged and not modes. In events journal, it just stated a reason "System Idle". Is it a part of new Windows update? Since, you probably had a lot of experience with power options, maybe, you could know what that is. Thank you and have a nice weekend! -
Just recently updater hangs at "uncompressing download". Any idea how to fix this? It won't proceed to complete the update.
EDIT: nvm, installed updater separately and it worksAttached Files:

I'm still having issues with the updater not updating items. It is pretty much useless to me now. It says 'X' is available. I have it update 'X', but the version for 'X' doesn't change, even after a reboot.
John, is there anything I can do on my end to help diagnose what is going on?TheChosen0ne likes this. -

I´m currently trying something new with FC to try to solve that.
Open CMD with admin rights, and type:
sc stop ClevoService
sc delete ClevoService
Then delete C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\
Then install each individual app that you use (follow the links in my signature).
Can you tell me the Laptop model and which driver is doing that?

John,
My model is P670HS-G. I appear to have the issue now with Intel chipset, Intel Rapid Storage, Intel Wi-Fi, and Intel Bluetooth. These are just the ones that show up as needing updates in the last month. Before that, everything was working fine. -
Previously--
The newest intel driver for P650HS-G - 25.20.100.6374 comes up with a prompt that informs the user that the preexisting driver - 25.20.100.6373 is newer in both regards to the audio and graphics drivers. Thereby installing it would be downgrading to older drivers?
Should I ignore this prompt and install anyway or keep my current driver?
--Now, the latest driver is 25.20.100.6444, and yet the same prompt is showing up:
A separate and much smaller concern is if I press no, then the driver installation finished prompt still comes up for me to restart if the version is not the same despite not getting to the installer.
And for the Intel Chipset driver, I love the automated sequence for the install, but the only thing is that the Chipset won't detect the correct version now and stays with the previous: 10.1.17765.8094 instead of changing to the updated: 10.1.17765.8098
When trying to install Intel Bluetooth v.20.100.0.04, the installer never pops up, instead, the finished installation prompt is the first and only thing to come up and skips the setup and installation process altogether.
A couple things with Intel Wifi:
Going from v. 20.70.3.3 to 20.70.4.2
The setup process takes considerably longer than usual. After hitting the update button, it transfers to a longer file download, then to "Starting Setup" bar that flashes continually more than it has in the past and it loads the wrong version installer v.20.90.0.
In addition, after installing, the driver version does not match even after restarting.
@dragon57
I also had problems with the rapid storage driver in the past with the version number not being the same as the updated latest. I eventually had to uninstall the driver, reinstall it, and haven't had any problems since when updating.Last edited: Dec 3, 2018 -

I really enjoy the software. Especially fan control: after tweaking 'manual mode' I can run the laptop completely silent when browsing, word processing or watching movies.
However, since the last update (2.0.9) when left either in manual, silent or normal mode, the fan out of the blue goes to max speed. I have to enable EC automatic in order to turn the system quiet again. When I looked at the temps gpu was normal, but CPU indicated 88°C (which would explain the sudden spinning up of the fans). This is without gaming, but only browsing and streaming.
Right after the fan control update I did lower the threshold of cpu and gpu security temps to 85°C, so I don't know if it's the update or this feature that is at fault. -

Another problem I'm having has to do with keyboard LED. With keyboard LED enabled my screen suddenly and randomly dims to 0%. I've disabled all battery-related stuff. This is less of an issue as I don't really use the leds, but still worth mentioning.
-
I've actually wondered if the blackscreen shutdown I'm experiencing has something to do with a false (or real, per this comment?) overheat sensor. The behavior is similar to an old model I had that would overheat and shut down in exactly the same way. Once I repasted the GPU, no more shutdowns.
This is why I've been looking for a way to monitor temps from the task tray or as a widget.

I just tried to update my Bluetooth driver, but got a bizarre result. My driver started at V20.90.0.3. When it tries to install, it asks if I want to upgrade from 20.90.1 to 20.70.0. Of course if I tell it to go ahead, it stops saying a newer version is already installed.
I tried to upgrade the Intel RST driver, but it refused to upgrade. It insisted on uninstalling, so I let that continue. I then told it to do a straight install, which it did, but after a reboot, the RST driver still showed the older version. The updater apparently downloaded the older driver?
Now I'm really confused!TheChosen0ne likes this. -

Any of you using CCC too? -
I had a bit of trouble with the Intel wifi auto updating, but it was resolved by going into the drivers folder that the utility downloads to and running the Setup manually.

@ John@OBSIDIAN-PC
Any ETA on the sync GPU2 to CPU fan? I really miss that feature -

Uninstalling CCC was the first thing I did when I got my system two months ago. Screen dimming is a recent phenomenon.
The fan behavior concerns me more, though. -
are the values in Fan Control supposed to update in real time? they fluctuate when i first use the program, and eventually just get stuck until i hit reset value to see the status of things currently.
maybe it's only a feature for the paid version, and i'm still using it limited to the free options. -
I have a problem with Fan Control 2. Earlier when installed it, it came up each time. Now after installing all of the other pieces of software the actual window for the fan control never shows up. All the other applications pop up anytime i select them so i'm wondering if it was maybe something i did in the settings but with each uninstall it still remains. Hovering over the program while its open does nothing. clicking on it does nothing but i can access two profiles from the system tray when its open but that's it. I read through the thread but didn't find anything.
Also yes i uninstalled CCC but i had msi afterbuner running but i closed it out and tried it again and nothing works.
EDIT: I should say that i had multiple times when i tried installing it over again it said NT Port Library Driver cannot be installed and an error code but there were also times i never got the error -

If you can find the window just delete the settings files like this:
CTRL+ALT+DELETE
Kill fan control if running
Go to your user Documents dir
Now open LaptopTools folder
Now you can find the fan control settings inside Fan Control folder
Just delete fancontrol.ini
