    Hi, Guys.

I am using a Clevop170em with i7-3630qm and an AMD Radeon 7970m, and those run unfortunately in ENDURO Mode.
From Day1 I was upset that I couldn't use my 7970m to its fullest (triple Monitor eg) but I got along,
also cause I am very happy with the performance of the rest of the laptop.
Now I got a 2560x1440hz 144hz Screen and have all kind of Issues and certainly want to do something.

    1) I researched this for many hours, but there seems to be no way to disable the integrated GPU cause all the Ports are connected to it? Also not with another BIOS or any other solution?

    2) So my Options are to either replace the GPU - if afterward this would work as Main GPU and let me use all the Ports and there are no restrictions to resolution and refresh rate.

3)Or to build an eGPU - anybody has an Idea if this works for this Model and makes Sense - and maybe already was successfully built?

You would help me a lot

    regards

You're limited by the output spec of the HD4000 igpu. There is no way to run dgpu wired directly to the ports. Replacing the gpu would probably make no difference.

This was my first Laptop - on what does it depend if you can disable the igpu or not, do you always have a igpu with Laptop CPUs, are the Port always shared?

Do you maybe have an Idea regarding eGPU with my Laptop?

    thanks so far

There are 4 main options that a notebook designer can choose.

    1. Skip optimus, take the on the go battery hit and have higher idle noise and wire everything to the dGPU.
    2. Put in optimus and wire every port to the IGP so that it all runs through optimus (can't disable IGP ever and still get a display). All output capabilities are dictated by the IGP.
    3. Put in optimus and wire all external ports to the dGPU so that when you plug in an external display you get the ability to use G-sync and higher resolutions (in some cases).
    4. Put in optimus and wire one or more of the ports via a mux, this can switch the machine at boot between being option 1. or 2./3. above.

In this case the machine is option 2.
