    Hi.

i´ve bricked my laptop Clevo X8100. i want to reprogramm the SPI chipset. For that i would need a dump for a bios curently running bios version 1.00.13 or 1.00.14. Winphlash or Bios backup toolkit may dump it in windows.

    Thanks

    Thanks Prema.

Since it is quite difficult to get a dump, I've been searching the internet programming cases of chipset phoenix bios. Comparing the initial and the final file, and I think I know how to extract the BIOS file, the ME and plattform.bin

1 - the first thing is to know where plattform.bin begins. In all cases I've seen starts with the following string in hexadecimal 42 43 D6 F1 00 31 31. In my case it is the last 39 KB of the WPH file. After removing these 39 KB remain other 4096 KB

2 - From the 4096 KB, 2048KB are the bios and other 2048 MB are the ME. The Phoenix bios file always contains the following string "NAPI" in ascii = 4E 41 50 49 in hexadecimal. in my case the first 2048 KB are the ME and the latest the BIOS file.

3 - One Checkout would see that in the BIOS file (2048 KB) the string NAPI = 4E 41 50 49 should always be a multiple of 64KB.

Am I 100% sure?. I do not know but it is a good start.

Monday will try to flash the bios, while if a Bios donor appears it would be appreciated. :)
