There any guides to pulling the CMOS battery on this notebook?

I have inherited this laptop from my uncle who passed away in 2010, however it has a bios password and no way to retrieve it from his estate, surviving Aunt and Dad are clueless.

I got as far as uncovering everything on the back including pulling out hdd's, but case would not pull apart easily. Not wanting to break it, I just backed off.

I would like to resell it as I really don't have a use for it, but wont get very far if I can't get into the laptop to wipe the hdd.

Thanks so much in advance for any ideas you can provide.

I'm another user with a D9C, I just have a dead CMOS battery that needs replacement. I've looked through that manual, from it I can conclude there's a connector on the motherboard that goes to the battery and a bit of circuitry but no instructions at all on what's needed to get to the battery.

ive got a m860tu from the same era with a dead cmos battery. its somewhere under the keyboard but ive not bothered to change it as i just reset the clock/date each day which only takes a few seconds.

as long as it boots up you can still wipe the hard drive. i use dban

thing is if you sell it will you be putting an operating system back on it or not or just sell it for parts.

I'm not planning on selling it, I figure at some point my wife's Skype machine will give up the ghost and she'll want it. Going into the BIOS and resetting the boot order every time it loses line power is beyond her, though.
