I tested Minecraft and found that my CPU ranges from 60C-70C during gameplay, even with just 10% CPU usage. Anyone else having temperatures like that with an Ivy Bridge?

I used to have this issue, buy a can of compressed air and take off the back plate and spray plenty through both fan vents.

When I had this issue, didn't think was dust as couldn't see any. Few minutes later back idling at 36.

Although Minecraft is very CPU dependent, you shouldn't reach 70 C from 10% utilization. I agree with Jaybee and KayTannee; inspect the paste job and ensure there's no dust hiding in the system.

Cleaning out the vent seems to have helped temperatures a bit. I removed the CPU fan cover and was shocked to see a blanket of dust covering half of the vent. Thank you for the help everyone.

The fan will also only start spinning faster as certain temperatures are reached so they tend to hit a certain point and then level off depending on how aggressive the fan profile is.
