I recently bought a Clevo P150EM with a Killer Gaming NIC (N-1103). The problem I am getting is while I am playing CSGO Steam will lose connection to their servers causing CSGO to lag for about 10 seconds. While this is happening the console is getting spammed with error messages and I lose connection to the internet, It's as if the NIC drivers are conflicting with steam.
I have the latest Killer drivers installed on the laptop, I was wondering if anybody is experiencing this issue.
I have resorted to cleanly installing Windows with only Flash, Java and Steam installed along with all drivers for the system. I have uninstalled my AV and disabled any firewalls. I have a desktop under the same router which experiences no problems with steam.

sounds like it could be the killer card. think ive seen 2 other people with similar problems in the gaming thread.
contact reseller tech support.
also not advisable to have no AV or FW if connected to the net. which antivirus was you using and was it free or paid version. -

The BF cards do experience trouble with certain games and it appears that's what you're running into like MrDJ said. There are some workarounds that have been developed around the net, not a universal solution to problems, but it seems that with enough fiddling people tend to get them working. I'd contact BF support if the Reseller support fails to help. It's an issue that BF is aware of and have said they're working on a fix for their users.

I only disabled them to test if it was them conflicting, I tried using MSE and Avast - both free AV's. MrDJ - The last thing I want to do is contact the reseller though as it was bought through my work and I'm not directly the owner as sales purchased the laptop under company name, so meh.

Never hurts to try. -
What exactly do you think I should be asking, Derek? For a replacement PCI-E wireless card? Cheers for help.

Steam has it's own set of issues as it stands, and as Derek pointed out, the Killer card is not without it's issues either. There should be a revised driver for the card in the near future (hopefully sooner rather than later). Do you run into this problem with any other online activity?

My connectivity is flawless apart from with this specific Issue! Very annoying. I can't get my hands on any older drivers to try them out, I can't browse my driver disc either as I have no disc drive so will have to wait until I buy a external. If anybody knows of anywhere I could get older drivers for my card that would be great!

You can also try connecting to the router directly instead of through wireless. This would tell you definitively if it's a steam issue or a BF issue. Also, as Mr DJ said, you'll want to get Antivirus and Firewall on the system. For Win 7 I use MSE and the built in firewall which is plenty sufficient if you aren't browsing shady sites in your non gaming time. Win 8 has AV program built in and so all you'll need to do is enable both and you're off again. -
thanks sager
9150 = P150EM Software Upgrade see if you can find it here. -

Anti-virus won't solve the conflict with the BF card or Steam (whichever is the culprit), but it's good practice to have an AV program and a firewall. I personally do not use an AV program anymore on my home system, but I do utilize the Windows firewall - and if you wanted to take it up a notch, you can even familiarize and use your hardware firewall (the router's firewall).
To second Derek's suggestion, try using a hard connection to your router (ethernet cable) and see if you run into any disconnect problems. -
Thanks a lot MrDJ, I will give these a go, they seem to be older. ;-)

your welcome. as i mentioned on another thread about graphics drivers a lot of the suppliers website arent updated as often as new drivers come available but they are handy all the same. hope they help.
