What are your cable management solutions currently? For those of you who move your laptop from place to place, but when gaming or something have it hooked up to multiple peripherals, what is your solution if any to having to deal with multiple cable hookups?
I would like to have one point of connection for my mouse/keyboard, etc, was just curious if someone has found an easy way of doing this. I understand I'll still need to plug my monitors in separately either way, but is there a hub? dock? that might help with this.
thanks in advance

In my docking situation, I use my laptop with the cooler plugged in. My cooler has a built-in USB3 powered hub, so I use those to connect a wireless keyboard and mouse. This way I only need to connect the USB3 hub cable to the laptop and everything is setup. This is then placed to the side of my work area, and I then connect a DP cable to my 28" Samsung UE510 4K display.
This way the laptop is not in front of me, and I can use the laptop display as a 2nd monitor if desired. -

I can get up to a 10C temp drop if needed

My setup has 3 cables into the machine, power, USB 3.0 to a powered hub and a mini displayport for the monitor. The monitor hub goes into the powered hub.
It sits on a custom cooler I have made with the cables at the right locations. -
Thanks for that response, any chance you could tell me what brand usb 3.0 powered hub you use (i've seen mixed reviews on amazon)? and you use a mini display port hub? Can you send me a link for that?
Also, any chance you have a pic of your setup? Thanks again for the responseLast edited: Jan 26, 2018 -

It's just a direct mini DP to DP cable into my Asus swift which also has a USB 3 hub which feeds off my powered one.
The powered hub is an ankor 4 port model and is a few years old now. The original 12V supply that came with it died fairly early on so I got a proper 12v power brick for it and it has worked very reliably ever since.
