    Hi guys,
recently I have joined the club of Clevo owners with M570TU notebook and would like to ask you for help in installing Avermedia A306 Internal hybrid miniPCIe card. It was purchased new on eBay and upon installing to the designated mini PCIe port I can not force it to work. Antenna plug was connected (if I recognize it correctly, it looks exactly like one of the antenna plugs on Intel WiFi card). The only thing that is missing is cable that should fit to the small white interface on the left side of the card. I've tried to look for connector close by the respective PCIe slot, but it is just absent. Moreover, one of the shots from powernotebooks.com (PowerPro L 8:15 Bluetooth and TV Tuner Installation section) shows clearly that some sort of cable is connected to this small plug. Actually this is the only reason I can assume my A306 is not recognized by Vista (BTW it is 64 bit Ultimate). I have asked sellers of this card but they replied it was antenna plug from which I understood that they have no idea :) Please educate me on this subject if you can, I don't know where to expect more help from .
I appreciate any help very much!

    Hi theriko,
unfortunately i do not have a right (according to rules of this forum) to publish a link unless I have 15 posts, therefore I didn't do it before. Here is the link in modified form (replace _ with .): www_powernotebooks_com/specs/PowerPro/l8-15inst.php.
From my research, this interface could be small MOLEX type of power cable.
    Thanks!

I am 99.9% sure that that cable is simply for the s-video input of the tv tuner and is therefore redundant on your laptop (as it has no s-video port). The card should work without it. Inside your notebook there should be 5 connectors the same as the wifi aerials (3 for wifi - you may be only using 2, depending on wifi card, 1 for bluetooth and one for tv), are you sure you are using the right one? They should all be labeled, otherwise look in the service manual here

At first thanks you theriko for your helpful suggestions.
The cable I connected to TV tuner card was located just to reach TV tuner card installation area, it was not long enough to reach Bluetooth module, not taking into account that the latter had its own cable already connected ;) My WiFi card is Intel 5300 and has 3 antennas connected as well. If that interface is not power related, than I may assume my mini PCIe port is dead. Notebook has arrived with Intel Robson Turbo Memory module installed in place of TV tuner :)confused :) and it was not recognized by Vista until I moved it to its original PCIe port. Now it is working fine. I suppose the only proof that my TV card is not defective - moving it to working PCIe port.
And than of course, is turn to give a hard time to my vendor (mysn.de) :)

    Hi there,
unfortunately must come back with my problem that still persists. Having received my M570TU being repaired from the company, and having installed my AverMedia A306 to the same dedicated slot, it did not work AGAIN! Computer just does not recognize newly installed hardware. While company technician seas they have checked this slot with TV card they have in stock (LifeView) and it worked according to their words flawlessly! I just don't know what to think... And since my moltherboard was replaced (due to other complain), and as far as I know slot is embedded unit, it should be common problem: particularly A306 with particularly dedicated miniPCIe slot in M570TU. But, this is nonsense as to me  . Could anyone provide any reasonable solution?
A306 was working in Intel Robson miniPCIe slot before reparation, will check it soon on new MB.

    Hi everyone,
finally today got a reply from my laptop vendor saying that Avermedia A306 is not compatible with M570TU! They had it extensively tested for some time with other model they had in stock (lifeview) and told that everything works smooth, but unfortunately not with my A306. Especially strange because it gets recognized in all miniPCIe slots but dedicated, as I wrote above. Sad.

    In my Sager NP5793/Clevo M570RU-U / M571RU-U
Avermedia A306 does not work. During boot process notebook freeze, don't see any bios information just black window. Tested with Avermedia A301 and it working. Asked from xoticpc for help, advice, but still have no response.
I don't understand why some hardware have compatibility problem if it shoud meet standards (like mini PCI-e). Why such Avermedia A306 have problem with Clevo, byt not in Asus notebok (F3Sv-B1 model) ???
I asked Xoticpc, Sager, Clevo about A306 compatibility but no one care, no one respond to my email. I don't know if they hiding something ?
