Many people complain of the weak, flexible screen cover of the Clevo P650RE. So is it possible to open the screen cover to slide in a thin, strong sheet of metal behind the screen to provide stability?

I don't think there is really enough room to be able to put a sheet like that in there, but I haven't really looked in to that too much.

Also, not sure about this particular model, but a lot of laptops have wifi antenna running around the edge of screen, putting metal in vicinity could affect signal reception.

Yes, a little, perhaps, but it's not necessary to extend the sheet all the way to the edge anyway. Just leave a gap on the top edge that's just as wide as the bezel; the antennas are right behind that. That being said, having tested the reception it didn't seem to matter enough to be measurable. The lcd itself is another thing altogether; that is generating an active magnetic field. Hence the width of the bezel; antenna can't be placed underneath it (no-bezel design have them between the hinges, below the screen).
Sure, but it'll prove tricky to find sufficient room for the sheet. Even aside from the tight fit depth-wise there's usually all kinds of plastic 'fins' and stand-offs (for cable guides and screw holes). Cutting that sheet to size will entail a lot of tinkering and extra cutting/drilling. The alternative is affixing it to the outside of the lid and that actually proved pretty straightforward ( here and here). Of course, not sure how that affects your warranty ... don't care about mine; never use it.

In our ramp vehicles, we have laptop mounts that actually have a clamp that grabs the screen to keep it from bouncing around. I don't know who makes it but it works great. It might be something that works for you.
