Hello, i've been leaning towards a sager np8657-S for a bit of time, and, well, i've never heard of sager/ clevo. I've read into them and they seem like a really reliable laptop company(ies) but i just want to know about their quality. For what they are selling inside, the price is one of the cheapest (with gigabyte rivaling them in specs per $). SO just wondering, i was going to buy the sager and use if for college, and well, i'm going to be carrying it around a lot to class and maybe to one of those places where you can just get food and chill there. Will this laptop last me 4+ years? And lets say something breaks, can i easily replace it or get it fixed in a timely manner? Thanks

Idk about if something breaks, but they have a very nice metal chasis that feels very well built. They are quality machines.

Not sure about the fixing part, but so far my sager has been very reliable. Outside of a CPU issue that needs to be fixed on Intel's end, the machine has been working really well running high end games consistently at 60 fps.

Generally they are pretty solid construction, good cooling, and easy to work on or upgrade. The 8657 is a new model, but is basically a refreshed version of the 8651. If you look at some reviews for that model, since more are out there now, you should be able to find out what people think of them. Otherwise, there is the thread for the 86xx owners, where you can find out more.

Typically Sager is on the faster side of warranty repairs compared to some other companies, but it always depends on what the issue might be though.

cool, i saw the reviews for the 8651 and those seemed really positive. i just wanted to see if there was any increased battery life (about 4 hours of browsing and music? with about 1.5 hours of gaming?) and any improvement in heat/ fan cooling. Again, everyone i've asked personally has never heard of sager/ clevo so i couldn't get any feedback from them. Thanks guys.

I have the Eurocom M5 Pro (which is the same as the Sager NP-8652, or Clevo P650SG), I get around 3-4 hours of battery life while doing school work. With Skylake, it will probably improve battery life for a bit.

You might see a slightly increased battery over the 8651, but i wouldn't give skylake that much credit for adding hours.

Thanks, 1 last thing (sorry, don't want to go down the shoot, i should of done more research in this laptop path), hows the screen, since sager makes "eh" average screens. I don't know how average screens are, are they just dull? i get the bad image quality part, but as for color reproduction, how are they? Thanks again for all your answers.

Sager typically uses LG and Samsung screens so they are pretty good typically. If you do one of the IPS screens there are a lot of good reviews on those for the color reproduction on them.
