So im tired of bringing along a bunch of external HDDs for recording gameplay or using as storage so i was thinking of upgrading the storage on my Clevo P170HM.
Saw that Western Digital now offers 2tb WD Green drives in the 2,5" formfactor so i was hoping i might fit it into my notebook.

Not sure if i will notice the HDD speed decrease since it will only be used for storage / games and my main drive will probably be upgraded to a Crucial M4 512gb SSD unless i find something better.

If it will hurt the performance too much i might consider the WD Black 750gb or the 750gb hybrid drive from Seagate.

afaik the voltage that the 2tb drive is rated at cancels out the possibility of being installed in a laptop. aside from that,it could possibly fit in a HDD ODD drive bay,but wouldnt get my hopes up when it comes to one of the regular hdd drive bays if i were you ;)

Guess i could sacrifice my optical drive so i could upgrade to 2x WD Black 750gb drives instead.
Think i used that drive 5 times since i bought it.

If you install your games on the HDD you dont want to go too low of a RPM. While you wont see any change in gaming performance, the map load times when you change zones will take a little longer. To me thats one of the most annoying parts of any game. Going with the 750GB would be a better choice.
