Has anybody been able to get this laptop working with a 144hz 1440p monitor via the display port.

When i hooked it up it would only work with at 60Hz.

System has the built in graphics + 7970M

    Any workaround would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,

Did the intel graphics have displayport 1.2? I think they were 1.1?

EDIT: Checked out intel GPU and it does say 4k 60Hz (was the first gen they did that). I would try updating your intel drivers.

    It's a shame mate, I don't think it supports 144hz 2k :(

I'm actually wondering about the same thing. I have a 1070 in my P150EM but I also use a 1440p 165hz G-sync external monitor. I know G-sync won't work but I can't find a way to at least get the monitor to run at 144hz or 165hz. The only place I see any mention of the panel frequency is on the graphic properties for the Intel integrated graphics, nothing on the nvidia control panel. It kinda sucks being stuck at 60hz

All the outputs are handled by the Intel GPU on the EM series.

You may be able to add custom resolutions using the Intel custom resolution utility. It's automatically installed with the gpu driver. You may not be able to do 120 or 144 hz, but you can probably set higher than 60. My external DP port lets me do up to 1440p at 70 Hz.

@Meaker@Sager my understanding is the HD4000 only supports 4k30, with the HD4600 being the first to support 4k60. The HD4000 will not drive a 4k display at 60 for me.
