    @Prema , @XMG

    The title. Both laptops have the 1070MQ.

    And we know for a fact that the cooling can handle it

    If a Vega 56 can flash a vega 64 LC vbios shouldn't a 1070MQ be able to flash another 1070MQ vbios. Assume that we buy a 230w PSU like the one comes with the razer.

    Note: the sager is performing as intended for a max-crippled 1070 laptop. The razer is the one punching above it's weight

    No sadly I don't, but I can tell you that you basicially can forget crossflashing vBios versions.

    They share slightly different device ID. If I can overwrite that I am might be able to do something about this.

    Shouldn't NVflash work ? Damn you Nividia .

    No, there are far more limitations than you'd think. Simply editing a device ID would do absolutely nothing. When trying to flash another firmware you not only risk bricking the card, but also breaking it. NVIDIA made sure you have a hard time fixing their mess. Also there is a special thing going on with newer revisions of pascal and 8th gen processors, which causes modding the TDP etc. to be impossible, not even with a hardware programmer. Read more abnout this in the Pascal TDP thread here on nbr.

    It funny how in AMD you can flash an 8GB GPU vbios and get 8GB on your 4 GPU chips.

    Their is a bsolutely no way nvidia straight up banned Vbios flashing. I recon there must be a way.

    Whether flashing would brick the card or not. Even If I succeeded clevo cancer EC will throttle me

    36FPS for a 1070 at ultra(which is equal to a 1060MQ). Never though I would see this day

    How XMG achieved this glorious results ?

    I'm being serious. NVIDIA is doing an incredibly good job at stopping us from fixing their garbage. @Mr. Fox

    Their is a good reason for that. In maxwell an OC'ED 970 was faster than a 980 which prompted people to just buy a 970 and oc. Now nvidia is making sure that no card can be OC'ed to surpass the next tier. So every penny you save you pay in performance

    AMD detect ram on boot where as Nvidia chips are pre-programmed hence why the AMD cards did not care about ram amount.
