With my original HDD installed in Sager 8130 with Nvidia 560M I can adjust shader, ,memory MHZ as I like. With the SSD installed Nvidia inspector reverts back to defaults when I click Apply Clocks & Voltage. I need to use that feature to get good FR with FSX. Help!

If you fix an issue, it's good practise to post up how it was fixed in case others run into it

doubt anyone would have same issue. I didn't know that I couldn't tweak settings simply if the power cord was not plugged in! I have always been aware that I can't play FSX properly if it isn't plugged in but I didn't know about settings not sticking in nvidia inspector if not plugged in. so I guess I'm saying I don't expect anyone else here to be as clueless as myself.

Ah so with that, the 3d state for battery and the 3d state for plugged in are different.
When not plugged in the power state is lower to stop the battery from burning out.
If you selected the battery power state from the drop down menu you could overclock it there too but it could cause serious damage to the battery. -

In nvidia inspector above the clocks you can select which clock domain you want to target:
P0 - high performance
P5 - 2d
P8 - Idle
Usually something like that. -
oh! I have seen those options in Inspector. didn't realize that they allow us to OC in various power states! will give it a try. thx again. -

Please note my warning about adjusting the battery clocks.
Can't adjust Nvidia inspector to increase video card clocks since installing SSD
