I own the NP5175. I haven't had any problems with the speakers until recently. I hooked up my laptop to my friend's hdtv via HDMI. We couldn't get the sound to come out of the speakers that were hooked up to his tv. In order to do so, I had to disable my built in speakers. Now, whenever I look at the connected audio devices, they don't show up. How can I re enable my speakers? Also, on a side note, the THX trustudio Pro won'e recognize anything I hook up to the laptop. It always says unsupported audio device.

Change the output from digital to the speakers. Lol I had this problem a few weeks ago.

Did you disable them from control panel > sound, under the playback tab? If so, just right click there and choose "show disabled devices". It should show up greyed out, and you can re-enable them.

By default, plugging in your HDMI cable should send the audio out to the TV so there may be an issue with the TV.

As for THX, it's registered on that machine, correct?
