Hi,
I just received my Sager NP8690 today and have been playing around with it. Some where along the line, I seemed to have to have lost the ability to get into my Bios screen. Instead of "Press F2 for system utilities" (or maybe something like that), I have "System resuming..." showing up on the bottom left corner of the Sager splash screen. I've tried pressing F2 but I can't seem to pull up the bios screen unlike earlier.
Am I missing something? (Sorry if this sounds like a silly question.)

Have you tried completely shutting it down first (removing the battery and AC adapter if necessary)?

Were you trying to wake the system from hibernate?

On my system it says resuming Windows when coming out of Hibernate and says starting windows when you start it up after shut down. So my guess is that you are actually waking it up out of hibernate. If you are shutting it off by the power button make sure it isn't set for going into Hibernate. Sames go with shutting it down by the Fn F4 and closing the Screen. If you are shutting the computer down by any of these ways you may have it set to go into hibernate instead of shut down.
To rule all this out just shut it down through the windows start button. If it says it still resuming windows instead of starting windows I am out of ideas. But someone else might have an idea also.
Sorry if it is hard to understand. I am not the greatest at typing whats in my head. -

Okay, time to diagnose. Remove your HDD and see if your notebook will show the POST splash screen.

Nope, same thing. I get the Sager screen with "System resuming" in the bottom left corner....
Hang on... I'll try again. Success! It said "Please wait" and I hit F2 quickly and managed to get to the Bios.
Now I'll try it with the hdd. Ok now its back to "Press F2 for....". This has left me more confused than ever especially regarding the first time I started without the hdd (computers, love them, hate them) but at least its alright now. Thanks again, Soviet. I didn't make this clear from the start but I wanted to access the bios to see if I had accidentally set my hdd to IDE instead of ACHI. I'm getting less than stellar results from my ssd but I think I'll leave that to after my exams. -

Ah, you read my mind. I was about to ask you that. Glad you are able to access your BIOS again.

I have the same problem right now.
I will try this solution and see if it really works for everyone. (Glad i found this topic! )
