This morning my fingerprint scanner stopped working: "User was not enrolled or his data cannot be opened. Cannot find fingerprint sensor device." I've tried restarting a couple times and a system restore, but it failed to fix my problem. I have tried re-installing the drivers but that did not work either, it asked me to enable my device. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ ;) y u no work!

I haven't done any major updates or anything that would have affected it. It's like it simply disappeared overnight. Windows does not show any biometric devices, and neither does the device manager. Luckily, I can still access my computer through a password.

Is there anyone who can help me?

It should still show up in device manager. Possibly a hardware fault, could be as simple as a loose cable. You could check that under the keyboard.

Yes the protector suite is still there. When I start it up, the program says "fingerprint device not present."

I guess I could try checking the device itself, though I'm kind of scared to because I don't have much experience in taking my laptop apart

Remove speaker grill. Remove screws holding keyboard, and lift carefully so as not to damage cable. Be sure to unplug and remove battery while working on it.
