I got my NP8662 today and I opened it up out of boredom/curiosity because I purchased it without RAM and am waiting for it in the mail. When I tried to take the HDD out to see what brand I got, I couldnt get it out. I checked the manual and I still cant get it out. I push the HDD down, out of the SATA connection, but it doesnt fully come out of the connection because there is a metal wall/plate at the bottom. The HDD connection is still like 1mm inside the other end and I cant push it perpendicular to the laptop without pushing on the SATA connection. Am I doing something wrong?

To remove the hard drive, just pinch both ends of the black SATA bridge and pull upward towards you, not towards the GPU, and lift the entire hard drive out of the chassis. I know that the manual asks you to pull towards the GPU, but in my opinion that's just the harder way.

Thanks. I didnt know the SATA bridge comes apart. I also didnt need to pinch both sides, I just pulled up harder and it popped out.

Yeah, I didn't know how to explain it too well so I tried to be as detailed as I could, haha. That black SATA bridge is there because the SATA port on the motherboard is perpendicular to the connector on the hard drive. It acts as a right angle patch to allow the hard drive to rest flush against the motherboard.

I Coudn't get the HDD out too a half year ago. But do you just need to pull up harder? Because I remember that I was scared that I would break something.

After removing all the mounting screws, just pinch the bridge on both sides and pull up.
