Alright so i got this GTX 980m card from a friend and it simply refuses to work in my Clevo P157SM. He swore it worked in his alienware before he sold it. So i suppose the card probably works.
I do have Prema v2, so BIOS update is probably not needed, now my question is, does anyone here know what the Issue is?
I think this might be a Vbios thing but I have no idea how to flash VBIOS on a card that reads as N/A. My notebook basicially rejects it.
EDIT:
Welp... finally figured out that it is indeed vBios. And I was honestly scared that the card would have been dead.![]()

I'm trying to flash prema Vbios on it tomorrow on a friends MSI notebook, i hope that it will read the card and if it does, i'll get flashed and a happy home![]()

Yes: It's a Dell card.
Right. There are many precedents of people trying to get a Dell card into a Clevo system, and just about all of them haven't panned out. If you do manage to get this working, please do post your steps and results.

I was wondering why are dell cards acting this way? Is there anything special that makes them not readable for clevos?

Update:
I put the card in a MSI GT 60 and a MSI GT 72 qe. On the GT 60 the fans would run crazy and the card would not be detected (much like on clevo) however on the GT 72 the whole things looks very different. The screen is pitch black BUT the system starts normally and the fans turn normaly, meaning the MSI did indeed recognize the card but couldn't use it properly, hence not giving me a screen but wouldn't act as if there is no cooler.
So now I don't know what to do. Do I really need to find someone with an alienware in order to flash prema vbios on it? ._. -

Like you said: A big part of it is the vBIOS. Honestly, I'm not very well versed in all the technical differences that prevent installing one OEM's card into another OEM's machine (we only work with Clevo cards here).
