I just tried my card reader for the first time today and have been having issues.

I've got the newest driver installed from the Clevo Driver thread. Using a 1GB SD card, running Windows 7 x64.

Immediately after installing the driver, the card reader will recognize and access the SD card fine. If I take the card out, put it back in the camera, then put it back in the laptop; it wont find it. If I restart the computer or reinstall the card reader driver, it will work fine untill I remove/replace it.

My Card reader problem was way worth in that I had a BSOD with B as "Black Screen of Death" meaning total crash with no recovery. Multiple times.

I have not yet checked whether my SD card works in my camera after I read the files from it with my 5165.

However what improved it for me, was getting the latest driver directly from the jmicron website. There was a very recent update. What you get on your CD that comes with your machine and also what you get from Sager's website is way outdated.

Here is the linkto the jmicron driver: ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/CardReader/Windows

So far it is running (ca. 12h). I would not call that finally solved but it seems improved so you might want to try that.

    Cheers,
    Mick

That was my original thought, so I tried it both ways and it doesn't seem to affect the operation.

If I "eject" the card and remove then put back in it works fine; same thing if I don't eject it and reinsert. But even if I eject, remove, put back in camera then put it back in the computer nothing happens still. Restarting the computer or reinstalling the driver works in either instance.

Thanks for the link BricMick, downloading the drivers now and will see how well they do.
