Just sent my computer to sager for repairs. The fixed the computer however, they claim they never received my AC adapter and made me pay for a new one. Just a warning never send the AC adapter in with the computer.

The exact opposite happened to me with Alienware:

I had like 3 dead pixels on my AW m9750 (1440x900), right in the middle of the screen too. So I send it in for repairs:
I remove the hard drives, the ram, and I dont include the power adapter.

I get it back like 10 days later...
1.) with an extra AC adapter
2.) came back with a WUXGA screen!!!! which was GORGEOUS

I dont know if it was a fluke or something, but they didn't even pick up that I voided my warranty by upgrading my processor.

When I got my computer back I was so happy I paid extra for Alienware. You definantly DO get what you pay for and overpriced computers are no exception.

Will buy Alienware again, just because of that.
EDIT: although it would have to be a refurb or an old school model, as these tend to be a really great value.

I've had my eye on picking up one of those mALX's theyre selling for less than a grand, modding the hell out of it so that the cpu is less of a bottleneck.

Yes, yes, and yes. A thousand times yes - with digital cameras as cheap as they are today, there is simply no excuse for not using one to protect one's self against foolishness (or fraud) on the other end of the shipping line.
