I wonder what is the benefit from WiMax card over the standard wireless card?
is there any chance that we can change the card?

WiMax is a long range wireless technology, expected by Intel to be the replacement for 3G mobile cards. At least that is my understanding.

WIMAX is not part of the centrino 2. the 300mbps standard wifi card is though.

the only benifit of using the wimax card when it comes out, is being able to use wimax frequencies. Since wimax signal towers are pretty much not established at all anywhere, there is no need.
It will just future proof your system for when wimax becomes popular.
