From what I've seen the touchpad wears out pretty easy (or at least the paint does), is it possible to replace the touchpad or make it look new again? Does the rubberized NP8150 hold up better against daily use?

One thing I can recommend though it may not be exactly what you're looking for is applying a vinyl decal over the pad, a matte finish vinyl can work too.

The touchpad works through the vinyl normally (as long as it's not a metallic based vinyl), I've done that on severely warn out pads or ones too smooth for my taste, I've also used the usually more abrasive application tape of vinyl to do the same thing for a more rough surface.

    Just some thoughts.
