I still have the charger for my P170HM, but have a P770ZM on order. Since my plan is to part out my P170HM instead of selling it as a whole unit, I was wondering if the chargers are compatible. If they are, I'd just use the P170HM charger as a secondary for my new system. They appear to have the same plug, and the P170HM one is rated for 220W (vs 230W), which is close enough for most uses.

Edit: I guess a better, more general question is which models all use the same tip?

Accordingly to @D2 Ultima 15" Clevos use the same tip and 17" Clevos use the same tip. Only exception is the P75xZM which uses the 17" tip.

No, the 220W chargers are different. My D900F 220W can't fit in my P370SM3, so that may NOT fit. You'd need to look up the pin orientation on the current 230W/330W PSUs and check with your own brick.

I can easily google the spec for my current PSU after grabbing the model # off of it. Any idea where I can find the pin orientation on ther current 230W/330W PSU's? (or, what model #'s are they?).

Sorry I meant current-gen machines, not dinosaurs like your D900F. :p

Also doesn't P67xSx use same tip as P65xSx?

The HM series was the series after the D900F, and they're the last to use "220W" PSUs. I'm saying the 220W PSU might be from that old gen, instead of the current "230W" PSUs.
I'm not sure about part numbers, but I meant to look at a picture XD.

Oh, sorry, thought you meant more like a pin out (1 = +19v, 2 = ground, etc).

    My 220W matches yours =/.

It will be fine for browsing, I would not push it however as bricks do age over time and so it may not cope with sustained high loads.

I'm an idiot and forgot which plug type I already owned (male vs female). Both of my plugs are compatible, and I haven't had any problems using the older one. I'm not really pushing my system at the moment however. It's really nice to not have to move my PS when moving from the living room to my office.

For reference, mt new PS that came with my P770ZM is:
    Brand: Chicony
    Model: A12-230P1A
    Ouput: 19.5V 11.8A

    My old one is:
    Brand: FSP Group
    Model: FSP220-ABAN1
    Output: 19v 11.57A

For general day to day it will be fine, I suggest you don't play extended BF4 multiplayer games though ;)
