I've got the standard DVD-R/W drive, but after getting my laptop hooked up as the center of my entertainment system, I am really looking for a BD drive to enjoy my movies on. I basically have two options here, though. One, get a BD drive for my 9262 (already have it hooked up to an HD monitor and 5.1 surround sound) or get a totally new surround sound system for my PS3 (hooked up to the same monitor, but my speakers are PC speakers). So my first, and more useful, assumption would be to look at available BD drives.

If you only want to play Blu-ray discs, than you will definitely want to go with just a reader drive, as it's close to one third the price of a burner. You can get a Blu-ray reader from Sager for $195. (Panasonic UJ-120) However, if you are looking to both play and burn Blu-ray discs, than you will want the burner drive which is $555. (Panasonic UJ-220)

It's a rather simple upgrade, which you can do yourself. However, if your notebook is still under warranty with Sager, they will do the upgrade without charging for labor. You would just pay for the parts and shipping costs.

Wow, I can't believe how much more expensive an internal burner is than an external one. I saw externals for barely $200. Is the reader from Sager the cheapest on the market?

    Would either of these work?

    This?
    Or this?

The second link is to a Panasonic UJ-120. That's the same Blu-ray Reader, that Sager puts in the NP9262.
