Found these just a bit ago.
I know it's been talked about but looks like it's time has come.
The laptop looks pretty sweet based on these pics.

    http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/images/8690/

New i7 Calpella CPUs with a 280M GPU - pretty powerful laptop that's gonna pack some punches. 15.6" screen with full HD!!! LED Screen!!! max 8 gb ram

Form factor looks very similar to the NP9850. Also based on the pics the bottom palm looks matte rather than gloss and the top is gloss.

Looks like it could be configured now as well.

Alienware got pwned by Clevo so badly haha. It's a bit more expensive than the M860Tu still. I want to see benchmarks and temps!

Hey Justin or Donald, are these benchmarks with the i7 920? Quite impressive tho, my NP8662 only does about 10300 points in 3dmark06.

But that thing looks fat, like the new m15x. And nice config vanfanel. That is what I would go for (except bigger hdd).

I've never had a Sager laptop but if I was to cheap-out on this and get the low end processor is it upgradeable by the user?

Yes you can always upgrade the RAM, CPU or Hard Drive at a later time. If other GPU's come out for this model they can be upgraded also.

Configured with the i7 820, 1080p screen, 500GB 7200 RPM HDD, 4GB 1333 RAM, and Vista 64 /w Windows 7 cupon, at $2200 the Sager is $275 cheaper than the M15x. Plus it's nearly 2 pounds lighter, has the 280M over the 260M, and looks less like a child's toy... haha

Hmmm....MySN sells it for 1700 euro's and has only the 260M. Kind of pricey. Getting it from Powernotebooks would be a lot cheaper, only 1300 euro's. But how much will the shipping to the Netherlands cost. Plus, if anything needs to get repaired in the future, it's going to be a costly repair having to send it over to the USA.

And I am still debating whether or not 1080p is too big for a 15.6 inch screen.

Don't forget that the build quality and design of the cooling system is probably far better, too.

This is an amazing 15" notebook. I wonder what the battery life is like?

I priced one out as I have been thinking about getting a base M860TU. A similar base W860CU is about $500 more (larger screen, 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200 HD). Decisions, Decisions.

I'm torn about a spending a couple hundred extra, that definitely wouldn't work. Besides besting the Alienware, this also beats the new Asus's new G60J laptop. Their first Core i7 laptop but it's only packing a 1GB GeForce GTS 250M. However it does have dual-SATA HDD support and a back-lit keyboard.

The 15'6 refresh from asus is the G51j. It packs an i7 and I would guess at least a GTS 260M (but no one knows yet).

There's always the envy 15 from hp. More portable and more battery life, but it looks like a mbp :)

Kobalt UK has it here http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/g860_overview.php

I have to say that I am very tempted by this one but my Nexus with the Q9000 plays every single game that I throw at it and more so I can't see myself upgrading any time soon.

I can't wait to see some real benchmarks for games on this one, would love to see how GTA IV performs on the low end i7.

Take a look at the two cooling systems. Notice the NP8690 on the left has an independent cooling system for the CPU and one for the GPU.

While both the CPU and GPU in the NP8690 have higher power requirements and generate more heat, you would think the cooling system has been designed to compensate for that.

now here's what amazes me... maybe i'm crazy, but idk.

Is it because of the autonomous fans for the cpu and gpu that the new np8690 can handle the extreme i7-m, but because of the shared fans, but autonomous heatsinks, the np8662 didn't come guaranteed from clevo / sager with a q9100 or qx9300? (mine's still stock, i'm just mildly dumbfounded by this new beast)

The W870CU actually looks kind of thinner... and better in almost every aspect except battery life time (1.5 hrs, from the Eurocom specification page). It is kind of going to be a difficult decision which to choose.

How big are the AC Adapters? Anyone know?

This laptop doesn't really compare to 17 and 18 inch notebooks. But it does against the m15x and the G50J coming out some day. And based on the specs, I think the Clevo will win (for now).

To Purlpo : The laptop doesn't seem thinner at all I find. It actually looks kinda fat (not as much as the m15x tho :p). It is heavier and I am pretty sure battery life is less. The W860Cu does beat the M860TU in benchmarks. Honestly, the i7 looks like an awesome cpu, the turbo boost just seems to make it a perfect adapter to every situation. But I would honestly wait until the 300 series from nvidia to get this one. Thing is, we don't know when these come out. You can't go wrong basically, it's just one awesome laptop against another awesome laptop. Unless some issues arise after the first reviews on the W860CU.

Was hoping for a 280M GTX but was expecting a 260M GTX I guess dreams do come true! :D
    Seriously this thing kicks @ss
Was thinking of maybe(maybe) getting the AW M15x but this laptop just suits me much better, don't get me wrong the AW looks great and has it's own niche but this is a great next step up for a 15.6" .
Huge thing is this thing is fairly cheap compared to the AW.
When configuring without the Finger Print reader do you get only the 2 touch pad buttons?
Want to see what that looks like.
Never really seen the point of having one, never used the feature on my other laptops.

Boxcar, I believe that under terms of the Sager warranty, you can return the laptop within 30 days of purchase, paying only return shipping.

IF FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER YOU SHOULD FAIL TO BE SATISFIED WITH YOUR SAGER PRODUCT, YOU MAY RETURN IT WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER ITS ORIGINAL PURCHASE FOR A 100% REFUND OF YOUR PURCHASE PRICE ALONE. SAGER WILL NOT REFUND THE COSTS OF OPENED SOFTWARE, NOR WILL SAGER REFUND SHIPPING COSTS. ALL RETURNS REQUIRE USE OF A RETURNED MATERIAL AUTHORIZATION (RMA) NUMBER, WHICH MUST APPEAR ON ALL COMMUNICATION ABOUT THE RETURNED ITEM AND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SHIPPING PACKAGING.

In any case, I feel where you are coming from on this one. My M860TU just arrived Tuesday night and reading about the W860CU and the new i7 mobile CPUs is enough to make even the most resolute buyer have doubts.

But, I knew from the first day I began searching for my whitebook that the M860TU was going to be mine. Plus, in my case, the W860CU kills my budget.

Remember that there's always new tech around the corner, and with laptops, even these fine Clevo/Sagers, upgradeability is limited.

Now we just need a review of the W860CU.

Im really worried about the initial reports on the battery life of the W870CU.

What I *REALLY* want to know is the noise level of the W860CU and the battery life.

Preferably with the i7-720QM and GTX280M since thats what im planning to get.

Your NP9262 in your sig would probably perform better than this with the 9800M GT SLI and the Desktop Quad. That laptop is still owning after all of these years. I am guessing you are looking for better portability though.

    Yes sir!
NP9262 is great but I want something that is a little less bulky.
This seems like the perfect choice to me without sacrificing to much performance. :D

Actually I think I am still going to buy a NP8662. I was only planning on getting a P8700, I like the 1680x1050 screen, and the 260M isn't that much slower than the 280M. Oh and it's about $500 cheaper.

At least that's what I am thinking unless someone has a good argument??

I know the W8600CU might have better future upgradability and heat handling, but looks like similar battery life.
