Hey guys, I recently sent my p170em for a RMA and had my glossy screen replaced due to some stuck pixels, I have had my laptop back to find that I have now got a matte screen ( up by pcspecialist)

Now Im not too fussed as I study graphics at uni and prefer the "real" colour as opposed to a higher vibrancy however I was just wondering if there is anyway to tell if I have been fitted with a chei mei screen or not?

    Cheers guys

All of the reviews I've seen of the chei mei were stellar, it seems to do better than its glossy counterpart even in vibrancy. There was a botched batch in mid 2011 that looked grainy but that was a long time ago and I got my p170em a few weeks ago with the chei mei and it's gorgeous.

Here's a notebookcheck.net review when supplied in the Schenker p170em:

HWinfo shows the panel make and even the serial number sometimes as far as I remember.

You can pull your screen out and it will say Cheimei right on it in small letters, or you can look for the model number and google it.

Dismantle the screen to identify the panel? Are you like the Che Guevara of geeks? :D

I'm so flattered I might cry.

This works?! I'm testing right now. [EDIT] OMG it works +1

LG is a different brand. Good screen though.
