    Hi,
I recently installed a fresh copy of the Windows 7 beta on my NP5973.
I am unable to install the Chipset Driver, when I attempt to do so I am prompted with a message saying it is not compatible with my OS. Is there anyway to get around this?

Also, What is the Chipset Driver for exactly?

A chipset driver is a piece of software that contains information on the capabilities on the hardware on the motherboard, most importantly the North and South bridges.

This page has the latest chipset driver for the PM965 chipset which is what the 5793 has.

BTW, the 5793 will take a maximum of 8GB ram and not 4GB as 8GB is the maximum that the PM965 will handle. I have the 5793 and recently upgraded it to 8GB and it works fine with Windows 7.

    All the best.

if it won't install, try running the installer with the -overall comand (and run it as an administrator)
