Hello,
I purchased a notebook from Cizmo Computer (Qi1800) some time ago. There have been delays in getting parts. This is ok and kind of to be expected i guess however are now unable to contact them via email or phone for a few weeks now. Does anybody now what has happened to this company and I guess are they still in business. I am hoping i have not just lost my money on a fools errand but fearing the worst now
If anyone has any information would be appreciated
Thanks

have you sent emails read/receipt so you know when its been opened.
hopefully they are just short staffed and will get back to you sooner or later. -
that was a good idea re read receipt. I have just sent another email with delivery report/read reciept attached. However I ordered the computer in may and after one month of an email every three or so days and a call a day beginning to wonder/despair. I did manage to contact at beginning of august at which point it was explained that delivery issues have been sorted out and should expect notebook about 16th of august. Nearly a month has transpired of repeated contacts. I figure that if they have gone out of business a simple message on phone would be enough. I would really just like to know what the story is at this point. I am still prepared to be patient with them but that is fast running out
-
this does happen at times which is totally out of the hands of the OEM. all it takes is their supplier to have delays sending out deliveries and the whole line gets held up.
i know nothing about the company but hopefully they will get back to you both soon. -
Did you pay via credit card? Or debit... anything with a "visa", etc. I would recommend calling the number on the back of the card and filing a fraud complaint to get your money back. The sooner the better. This way, one of two things would happen. #1) You get a refund, or #2) The company gets the hint and contacts you/sends you your laptop. Let's just say that a fraud complaint doesn't look good for a company like that.

unfortuantely paid with paypal and while started process with them for retrevial of moneys apparently outside 45 days. however they are chasing up as well
-
An update . I have escalated to a claim with Paypal as they are unable to contact as well. I hope to simply find out where CIZMO are or what has happened, if Paypal can tell me that is. Also I have not received a read receipt or for that matter a delivery receipt on my recent emails and now the phone just rings out without going to message service. Interesting.I have resigned myself to a long battle to get any money or notebook back but as spent alot of money not giving up yet
-
might be worth sending this link to forum admin charles p jefferies just in case they have gone bust so as to warn others with a sticky.
ignore this as hes been contacted. -
well what do you know. the paypal thing must have worked. Just got an email from CIZMO with tracking number for notebook that they are couriering to me now. Will of course just wait to see what turns up. I guess sometimes it pays to try and stir the pot on occasion
-
-
At this point I would just seek a refund, and go with someone else.
This doesn't paint a bright picture of what may happen, if you ever have a problem with the notebook. -
Now, I really, really wish I had seen this thread or other threads sooner... because this, judging from the threads I have gathered will most likely happen to me as well (yes I made an order)I also really hope that I will be proven wrong - some people have actually received their laptops!

In short the story is the same: delay, response with an excuse, delay, maybe another excuse, then no more responses. Maybe all the cases have to do with summer/winter holidays, but the one bluemerle27 told is inexcusable. At most the shipping time should be two to three weeks if it's a custom paint job! I cannot imagine the delays should there be a warranty issue.
Is it a business model to wait for the components to become old and cheaper to maximize profits? - Re: Alienware or Cizmo custom? [notebookreview.com

Just to let you know the tracking number is tracking something on its way in my general direction. I am going to wait to see what is going to turn up. I have been informed the the model I originally ordered (18.4 inch Qi1800)with nvidia 285m sli graphics cards has been upgraded in the meantime to newer ATI card ( not sure model number yet) plus other minor upgrades . I hope so as understand this could be better. I will however wait and see and pray it works i guess and that CIZMO difficulties are just summer related because in fairness the times I was able to contact (far too few) them they seemed genuine enough.
The original delays were plausible in my mind as I know that if an OEM has a slip up on the supply chain in can cause a cascade like delay, however the lack of contact to simply explain why there are further delays was not good business practice in my mind. A simple explanation can go a long way to keeping customers happy an onside when thing go wrong.
I hope Couchpill has better service than I did however as it can be very stressful when contact with a company dries up and you are left holding.
Will let you know what exactly turns up -
i got my laptop after a week since making an order. (not so much for me as it was shipped from germany to slovakia). however after a week or two of using the d900f i realised three stuck pixels on it. and when i was complaining about it they told me that i need at least 5 i think because of the ISO standard with broken pixels. so i cant do anything about it now...a few months ago they told me that they will replace the display for me for free but i must bear the shipping costs.
yes and one more thing. i was forced to send them mails two times for each one because they were too lazy too answer me. and when i was asking why it took them a month to reply they told me that my mails were unfortunately grabbed by their spam filter and later they added me to the happy customer listbut once again. two weeks later i was asking them for a new bios and noone is answering me.
i have choosen cizmo because i read a few positive comments about them, namely that they are one of the best nvidia resellers but what ive mention is unprofessional for a company that sells extraordinary laptops...
And one more thing, in my order i have choosen 6 gb of 1333 mhz ram. i got even a mail when i was making an order which confirmed me that my config is with 1333 mhz rams. btw when i was making an order they were answering me every minute. but when it arrived i have checked the config with everest ultimate and the rams were 1066. maybe not a difference worth to complain but still this is misrepresentation of client. and so far after a year, noone in cizmo hasnt answered me why ive got slower rams. -
Related to the pixel that's complicated issue, but otherwise the behavior of company starts to look similar to the UK store rock who was brought to bankruptcy by "rotten" employ.

Recieved this by email today. it goes someway to clearing up what may have happened to CIZMO. I also help my peace of mind a bit
"we are currently setting up our customer support in Königsbrunn near Augsburg. Our main company Tronic ´5 mobile computer GmbH will now be in charge for Cizmo directly.
We really apologize for the inconvenience due to the restructuring processes of our company.
Best regards
Cizmo support team" -
I ordered my two computers and was told 4 weeks, now its more then 6 weeks and they don't respond on either email or telephone.
Was very close to reporting them to PayPal and German ECC as well as the Swedish 'black list' of internet commerce, will surely take some action very soon if they can't be bothered to answer one of my seven emails on this issue.
Its ok to deliver over time, but not responding to your customers is suspicious behavior. If its true that they are moving their support operations why not send out a mass-email to all registered customers?
They are either lying or rather bad at the whole customer relations business. -
This is indeed a suspicious behaviour. I would recommend cancelling your orders if your laptop wasn't sent yet. Don't buy from resellers which don't respond to your emails.

I should point out that I only started to get action and explanations once reported to paypal and started this thread. I agree that if are restructuring offices or whatever the case may be simple customer service ethics would dictate that you let customers know that. A simple answer phone message or email would do. The fact that none of this has happened with me or others in the same boat does make you wonder. My suggestion to others may be to contact new parent company and also to start raising all the fuss one can. I appears to be the only way to get action. This but not be necessary but sometimes i guess it is
-
I'm not sure its possible to cancel my order, I have made two claims on PayPal for my computers.
We'll see what happens, they have 30 days or something sadly to react before PayPal takes action and escalates the issues. -
well, today my notebook turned up, nearly five months later. So far appears to be ok but some rigourous examination and testing still required. The first thing i did notice is that the bluetooth module is missing. It should be there, says so on the invoice ( I have a bluetooth mouse I am extremely fond of). I am not however sending it back for that as i will never see it again I am sure. It has the 2xATI 5870(crossfire) as promised as well as USB3.0. this is good as these were not in my original order ( too long ago). Will continue to test and see.
If I can be of any assistance with those who are waiting on CIZMO I would be glad to help . I have sent another email saying there are others who are waiting for resolution ( maybe i have a channel open for some reason). will see how that goes -
You can mount yourself the bluetooth module if they send it.
-
I have asked for it for that very purpose. not holding out much hope of recieving it before christmas 2011. might look into acquiring seperately. Cost more i know, but might turn out cheaper in the long run, factoring in the cost of calls to chase up parts etc
-
Are you sure it isn't there as opposed to not being turned on (as in, have you pressed fn+f12?)
-
Thanks for the update bluemerle27! (Personally I would be pissed if I got an ATI card instead of NVidia because of bad linux support...).
-
fn+ f12doesnt work, or various hotkey combinations etc. will open up to have a look if it is there or not, once i work out where to look of course.
Would be interested to hear how other people go with deliverys, warranty returns etc, -
Try to get a dissemble manual. It should have detailed instructions about how to open and where to find the module.
-
I think you are a lucky person...I made also a order to CIZMO for Qi1730 in JUNE 2010...They told me after I had made the payment that in 3 weeks I would be in possess of my notebook.
After the 3 weeks I tried again to contact them, because the notebook had not arrived, but no luck, I sent them some emails and they told me that they have some problems, that the components didn't arrive from Asia.
In August I lost all the contacts with them...
Now I will report all this to the police because is not acceptable something like that...I don't accept to lose 2500euro... -
The service manual is in my sig, it shows where the BT module is
-
So, anyone ordered from Cyber-System and have similar problems?

Same building on Google maps [google.com], same building on CIZMO, Cyber-System and tronic ´5 pages.
I wonder how long they have been relocating, or is that CIZMO always has an excuse to quote a post. I do hope tronic ´5 has better management.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
i would have thought they would have a rep on here to reasure their customers but looking in the clevo guide a rep is n/a
-
That is interesting, in a suspicious sort of way, I remember that building on the website of CIZMO when I ordered my notebook way back when. it kind of stands out (for the Europe that i am familiar with, which isn't much). In which case the 'relocation' and 'restructuring' starts to sound fishy.
BTW thanks theriko for the service manual which helped me discover where the bluetooth module should be. It, of course, is not there. back into the lions den of this outfit I go to try and get one. Buying one from UK as well, just in case. Not that expensive, but usefull enough to have -
This have kind of permanently ruined my trust in smaller companies. When/If I get my money back I'm going to buy a friggin Dell or Asus.
-
As an update, when PayPal threatened to escalate my claim, they returned my money. Not a day before.
So I got my $$$ back, nine weeks later. Time to look for another supplier. -
thats great news. its such a shame when things like this happen. we had it in the uk with rock a couple of years back.
trust me,there are still some great small companys out there, its just finding them.
if its in germany where you want to buy then start a thread asking who members recommend.
good luck with your search.
