I sent a mail to cizmo end of last week about the availability of the CX15, based on the m860TU with the montevina proc ( http://www.mycizmo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=72&products_id=189&zenid=524579c7f8a108a81f9726d1dbc01084). I was thinking that they wouldn't be able to ship it before half july, but the answer was really different. Is it possible that they got some montevina so earlier??

    My question to cizmo:
    Cizmo answer :
    It's hard to believe...

Lol Intel probably didn't lock down on them like they did PCMW. Well, let's see some reviews people. Whoever is getting their laptops by this or next week.

Paladin, be quiet, please don't go calling Intel about this. I want to see this laptop in action. :p

Since Intel doesn't seem to have released Montevina yet, it's hard to see how that shipping schedule will be met.

However, I have to disagree with the request that Paladin44 not say anything - Paladin44's been a very valuable resource for solid information, and while there's nothing wrong with hoping, one should always have one's hopes grounded in reality. I, for one, welcome any contribution Paladin44 cares to make.

i agree with Shyster, but we can still hope a bit ^^

I don't think Deathwinger meant for Paladin44 not to post on this subject, just not to run to Intel ratting them out for offering it to their customers before the Monmtevina release. And I think he was joking at that.

I would suppose they are not under any NDA with Intel, so are not restricted from selling Centrino 2 based processors at this time (perhaps when the chasis arrive this week) - assuming they've been able to source them?

I would also suppose that they are restricted from properly labelling them as Montevida systems until all components arrive (such as the WLAN card), which Intel may not supply until 14 July. Perhaps they will consider sending the WLAN card to customers to replace the typical draft-N card when it arrives, so customers can install it themselves (assuming they paid for it upfront).

As for the 8800GTX, I wouldn't necessarily assume that this chasis is without it's own heat issues (and potential driver solutions?)... and who knows if the 98XX cards (whatever they end up being called) really do improve performance much, if/when they come out...

So many questions, so few answers! :)

He he, Intel are aware of who is breaking NDA etc etc as much as NVIDIA are. The date mycizmo ship the chassis will be determined firstly by when they have chassis to build with.

Don't forget that an NDA date is primarily to let companies talk about and advertise/sell a new product. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are in a position to ship that product the second the NDA date arrives.......

Lol it is most likely just CS talk to prevent the loss of customers. That is what PCMW has been saying for the past month. They've even said they would have processors by the 1st week of June. we should be seeing something like due to monitor problems shipment has been delayed or something like that come shipping date :D

Hopefully someone will be able to ship one before the end on September. I'm really interested in a 15" now (also considering the M15x, but the problems it has it makes me think again + it doesn't have Montevina yet or will never have) and I am definitely interested in reading a review.

Last I spoke to them, they were waiting on the m860tu chasis, hence the delay for that until (at least?) 10 july. They aren't waiting on the 17" chasis of course - presume they must have the new cpu's in-hand.
