Well understandably it's supposed to be no big deal, but it was for me - I've been putting off cleaning it (ignoring Gophn's advice to do so at least once every 2 months) ever since I bought it 12 months ago (!!!), just in case "something" might happen while I'm cleaning it which makes me ruin it... and taking ultra care scrubbing hard any surface I put the lappie on!

After 12 months of nearly daily usage - here's the picture of the open dirty laptop.
There was one single dust bunny the size of my small (bitten!) fingernail on the CPU fan.
(Btw the CPU fan is far left, then there's the RAM fan, and the fans for the 2 GPU's)

Now here's the picture after cleaning (duh it faces the other way now so CPU fan is far right)

What did you use to clean it?
    Compressed Air?
I have been meaning to do the same myself!
    Looks brand spanking new now..lol

I used Ma-Fra Soffio compressed air to clean it.

Must say it does a good job. I use it on my desktop pc (E8400 @ 4Ghz) as well.
    :)

Man, I pulled a couple dust bunnies out of my son's rig last week. About the same size as yours.

Did you check temps before and after the cleaning?

My son's rig's temps dropped by 23C! I also changed the crappy factory thermal paste out for some high quality paste while I was in there.

I remember opening up my Dell E1705 after a year . Ive been gaming on that machine pretty frequently . It had 2 fans : CPU and GPU ( 7900GS ) . Exhaust vents were dirty , i pulled out 2 "dust hamsters" out of them . I havent checked but i bet temps dropped by a lot .

I will never neglect a computer like that again . I like my sager very much and its getting cleaned once every few months . I even put on 4x caps from gatorade , to keep it elevated from the table to eliminate dust build-up .

And good job on cleaning your 9262 !!!
