Mine seems to collect and show oils from fingers and hands. What is the best way to clean it? I tried just wiping it and that didn't work. Tried a very lightly damp rag and that didn't work

LCD cleaner works, also alcohol (I was afraid of the latter, but it worked fine - just to be safe, test it on a corner)... Or just wipe it thoroughly with a microfiber cloth...

I've used alcohol successfully on numerous rubberized finished surfaces and works great. I just don't know long term effects of using it on a regular basis, although I'd think it'd be ok.

Water and some hand soap, then follow up with a damp cloth. I wouldn't use alcohol unless it was really bad.

This Aerosol Glass Cleaner is amazing for many things, including keeping my rubberized laptop looking new.

wet some cloth with water, squeeze surplus water out of it till its just damp, wipe the machine down, followed by a dry cloth wipe. no fancy shmancy cleaning fluids, alcohol or whatever necessary, works like a charm :)

I used pre-packed glass/window cleaners (in a plastic resealable bag like baby wipes come in) - it took some *very* gentle persuasion but it worked a treat, it also cleaned the matte finish LCD nicely - took more than a few wipes but I was being gentle with it.

Good post, I wondered this myself and I just ended up looking in the cupboard for something that said it would be ok on plastics (or didnt say, "don't use on plastic" as some do!) - I let nearly 10 months of finger prints build up on the chassis and LCD before I dared to clean it :D

I have found a mildly moist cloth cleans most issues on any notebook.

Microfiber cloths do a better job than ones that leave behind lint, as well.

Or use a normal cloth and then clean with a microfibre, they never seem as good when wet to me.
