I need to be able to clear the BIOS boot password and get it reset. How can I do that if I don't know the current password? Can I boot up from a USB thumbdrive with BIOS software and overwrite what is there right now?

Sorry, but bypassing security measures is a banned conversation topic on these boards.

Yep. See forum rules. We do not allow that type of discussion for any reason. I suggest that you contact Sager or the individual/reseller you bought it from. They may be able to help you.

Sorry..I bought the laptop for my son for Christmas. As for contacting someone, I tried with Sager first....all the guy could tell me was if I could pry off the top of the machine and get to the battery...but he did not tell me where, what screws or order to do anything....so my only option looked like I would have to send it in to them...

If that makes me a thief (as in I must be trying to break into a laptop that I stole, sorry if you got that impression)....I OWN a NP5791 and a NP9262...can show you the invoices to prove it.

It doesn't make you a thief, jmorrissey3. I would have asked the same thing if I were in your situation. But the reason why our posts were removed is because this is a public forum and those that have stolen a laptop with a locked BIOS can refer to this thread.

Yeah but it'll show to everyone how to do it, and other people might not be as honest as you are ;) I think that's more why we can't discuss it.

Edit** Soviet types faster than me so forget about my post lol :p

    Okay...I see the reason...

Would someone be able to send me any instructions via PM? Then it would not be on the open public forum?
