Is clevo planning to use LED Panels on any of their models? The only thing that keeps me from buying the 15 inch monster is the screen.

says the m680tu already uses a LED screen (watch the video), however i dont trust it as the monitor seems too dim. but i have not yet bought mine so i cant tell you either way. -
The main reason I returned my D901c in the 30 day window was because of the screen--old crappy TN tech. Nobody can say for sure if any notebook manufactures will start to offer RGB I-IPS displays or better (OLED?) in the near future. There must be a huge amount of inventory of these TN screens to unload...
-
This is why I never trust Notebookcheck -
Pretty sure that's a typo and supposed to read LCD Display
-
100% NOT a led display the exact part number it uses is not a led display at all..
-
No LED for the M860TU. You can barely see something on that screen outside. I can clearly see the duct accumulating when I'm outside but I can barely browse internet at max brightness so err...no LED for sure.
-
:S. I'm hoping to see a 15.4 or a 17 with high end gpu and LED lcd, at an affordable price.
-
So what exactly would be an example on a LED screen?
Because I think the m860tu's brightness is actually pretty decent and screen is sharp, in comparison to what I had before of course. -
Most if not all of Apple's current laptops use LED backlit screens.
-
the 860 i had in my hands which i borrowed to try out from a freind of mine was VERY dim. i measured only 169.5 max brightness in the center of the screen with a colorimeter and a spectra.. it was way dimmer than the 570ru i used to have which is unusual for a 15" vs 17". it was a decently accurate screen color wise even more so after calibrating it for him but just to dim for me. it also had some sparkle or grain to it.. not to bad but it was there
-
It is very dim in my opinion. zfactor... what do you use to calibrate the screen? I want to calibrate mine.
-
it depends what you want to spend lol.. i have stuff to calibrate that is over 1k$, but imo the absolute best bang for the buck is the eye-one xrite sensor available in the display2 package. on ebay this kit is about 200$ and use the cashback for 30% off.. its not perfect BUT the eye sensor is very capable and with better software (hcfr free online) it can do awesome things.. just be sure to know you may not like what you see after calibration some do and some dont. screen manufactures add in lots of extra blue otherwise known as blush push this makes them more appealing to the general public by making the picture seem more vibrant or have more pop to it. calibration will remove this and even out the gamma to 2.2 (usually) and 6500k color (unless you want otherwise but i dont recc it) so what you see afterwords while it is accurate but may not be as "appealing" if you know what i mean
i agree the 860 screen was VERY DIM as i said i measured under 170 at max settings.. that is way to dim imo though believe it or not the recc setting for a notebook display is only 90 so about half way down on your screen .. yes its true believe it or not.. -
whats the brightest screen i can get for a 17 inch without dual lamp u have any idea?
-
the dell m1730 lg screen is about as bright as they get. i measured 320nits at max it has a bit of light bleeding though and the colors are a bit off but i think they did that in turn to get the higher brightness. but the lp171wu1 is pretty bright. i have one of the 300nit ones brand new if anyone is interested the bottom bracket just has to be taken off its very easy to do.. colors are a bit off in the yellow range but its A CRAZY BRIGHT screen. samsung, sharp, auo, chi mei .. no one touches that nit rating from a single bulb almost all other decent screens are about 200-220
-
Hey would you sell e the 300nit one? i'm going to pm you.
-
yeah as long as the new one i ordered works in the dell ill let you know asap and i will not sell it to anyone else unless you tell me first.. im not sure if the new one will mount right, the one i have will work in your system. i should have it hopefully today or tomm
-
This might be a dumb question but I never really looked into led-monitors and such, I'm not familiar with them.
The 860tu doesn't have a backlight, does that mean if I'm in a dark room I won't be able to see the screen? Much like the gameboy advance VS gameboy advance SP? -
Of course the m860tu has a backlight, just not an led one. It has the standard single ccfl tube backlight
-
Anyone know what the Sony Vaio Z series rating is or if it is very bright?
What brand/model has the best screen, in your opinion?
Is there a difference if you would like a good quality screen and might watch videos/movies on it from time to time? Does LED backlight v.s. standard ccfl tube backlight matter in that respect? -
can you tell me what the hardware id is then ill be able to give you more info on it..
