Hello guys, I am currently living in Hong Kong and I need to replace my 4 years old Clevo X7200 with a new gaming laptop.

I was wondering, is there any reseller that ships directly from within or nearby Hong Kong and therefore has minimal tax charge? What are my best options?

So far I've only found one website, OriginPC Hong Kong, but I was hoping to find more options.

    Thanks in advance.

TerransForce.com (China's biggest Clevo importer) ships from the mainland.
You will find a few of their reseller also right in Shenzhen...

The way I understand it is it wont matter where you get it from because the resellers only collect for the price of the computer and shipping cost. Any other fees like taxes you pay at the time of delivery or pickup. So that should not change regardless of where you get it from. I would check with your local customs agency, or even local post office or UPS center should know as well.

HK charges no import tax for electronics. No export tax as well. Google it.

Aye, that should be the case. We do not collect nor apply any tax beyond state tax, and that's only for California residents.

    This I did NOT know!

Thats great! Do you remember if there were any other fees due at the time of delivery, like customs or duties etc. Or was it just sign for the computer and you're all good.

No fees upon delivery. I haven't received my 650SG from XOTIC yet, but I have ordered other electronics from US. Just sign for the package.

Frankly, I'd rather we have some sort of tax, so the government can balance its policies better. But that's another story.

Everything has its pros and cons.
