Just googling for 2012 Clevo doesn't show me anything. Do you folks know anything? As it is, Clevo for me is just not acceptable in 2011/2012 considering what I think is standard for high performance/gaming laptops.

Will Clevo fix their keyboard and backlit, and take advantage of the added real estate of 17" instead of a puny keyboard?

And noise. Now that Alienware has made steps to lower the fan noise level in the M17x R3, will Clevo make adjustments as well or continue to make the loudest laptops on the market?

What's the story here? Cause I think Asus will disappoint again with some mid-range GPU that is fused onto the motherboard.

Do a search here in the forums - there are threads where your questions have already been answered, both in the threads about Ivy Bridge and some of the "Should I buy now or wait" ones.

Clevo for me is more than acceptable for 2011 / 2012 in terms of performance / gaming laptops.
    15", 17" and 18" models? check
support for high end GTX580m or 6990m? check
single gpu and SLI / Crossfire models? check
    highly upgradeable? check
    support for newest CPU's? check
    multiple screen options? check
3D options for those that want it? check
large parts choice instead of restricted options from factory? check
Ability to compete with and beat Alienware in a performce to price comparison? check

What else is needed? Are backlit keyboards nice? Sure they are, but not "needed." Is a full number pad nice? Again, sure it is, but not needed. Takes a few days to get used to, but now I can input data to my spreadsheets just as quick as I could with a full 10-key layout. Are flashy lights all over nice? Personal preference. For me no. And the noise? So what. These are gaming laptops, what do you expect. They might be louder than Alienware's in tests that are measuring decibals. But will anyone only listening to the two with their ear be able to tell the two apart? I doubt it.

So in my opinion Clevo's are great now in 2011 and will be again in 2012. Maybe you didn't mean it OP, but the way you worded your post in the Sager and Clevo forums just makes it look like you are trolling.

I agree the keyboard layout could be better but Sager is way quiter than Dell in 2011, and no one really needs backlit (although it will be offered in 2012). I can type fast without looking even though I don't use home row

Backlit is cool though; that's the only place I don't mind it being shiny!

Please do not compare Sager/Clevo with Dell.

typical troll trash. Clevo and its resellers was the best, is the best and will always be the best considering what they offer and what we pay for it.
