    Hi folks,

Odd question, but here it is.
My 570 will not turn on. The LEDs on the front display 000 00:00 instead of the time. It will play CDs when I insert them, but the laptop itself will not turn on. No response when I press in the computer power ON button. Also no response when I press the CD/DVD on/off button near the LEDs.

I was travelling with it in the bag, maybe some odd button was pushed that I don't know about. And, of course, the manual is at home, so I resort to the forum.

Can you help me get the computer working again?
    Thanks in advance.

Take out the battery and put it back in that might work

I did that- for more than 5 minutes. No change.
Could it be that the CMOS battery is dead? Odd, because it's a 3 month old computer, but you never know.

Anyone have any ideas of what to do? I'm feeling a bit helpless here.

So... the front panel Audio DJ works... while the normal notebook function doesnt?

When you turn off the Audio DJ, the front LED should go off, then press the notebook's power button to turn it on.... if this does not work...

Try this (its weird but has worked before):
    - remove the battery
    - try to carefully flex the notebook chassis (by bending it in different corners of the notebook)

There could be a stuck/dry solder that got jostled during transit.

Just tried what you suggested - no luck. I flexed as much in as many directions as I could.

Any other ideas? I'm open to anything at this point.

Ok back to the troubleshooting (hope you're up to it):

    1) remove the battery and AC power

    2) remove/reseat the following (unimportant) modules Wifi-card, TV Tuner

    3) remove/reseat RAM

    4) remove/reseat CPU

    5) remove/reseat GPU

    Thank you Gophn,
I did 1 and 3, no luck. I'm away from home and dont have the manual with me, so thats about all I dare at this point. I'll try again later. But I'm not very hopeful.

Used to have this issue with the old 5680 (d500p)
    unplug the computer
    remove the battery
Press the power button and hold it for 10 seconds .
Plug in the power supply (no battery yet)
Press the power button--does it boot?
