This isn't specifically related to Clevo laptops, rather a Clevo 7970M MXM card.
I have one of these and was wondering if anyone has used one in a non-Clevo machine?

I think it really would depend on the machine you want to put it in and its compatability. For example Asus wont support other GPU's in their computers.

Clevo 7970M works in my MSI GX740. I need to control fan speed manually though.

better check in the aw section for that ;) concerning the 7970m, i definitely remember a guy upgrading his m15x with it without issues. he was also like the second person here on nbr to be in possession of such a card, back in march/april or so.

As always, kind of, you might get those weird firmware issues or it could just work. I always prefered dell cards in my msi.

The card that Asus G73JH users are using to upgrade to the 7970M I believe is a Clevo card with the modified vBIOS for HM series.
