Hi
I'm considering getting a w860cu (or w760cu if it ever becomes available).
One of the major concerns I have with the w860cu is that the gpu drains the battery (which is unbelievable light for such a machine) in a few minutes
this would be my config:
Screen - :: 15.6" 1920x1080 Full HD+ X-Glass 1
Processor - :: Intel® Core i7 720QM Quad Core 1.60GHz - 2.80GHz 6MB Cache 1
Video Card - :: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 280M 1GB GDDR3 1
Memory 1 - :: 4GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333Mhz CAS9 2x 2GB DIMMs 1
Hard Drive - :: 160GB Intel Gen2 Solid State Drive (+ £253.00)
Anyone with a comparable rig out there who can give me an indication on how long the battery lasts?
Even better would be if you can give me an indication of how long it lasts while working something like Visual Studio, SQL server, etc (development work).

I haven't gotten mine, but I'll be interested to see since I'll be doing Visual Studio and SQL Mgmt Studio on the road myself.. Wonder if you're my UK doppelganger? Are you a West Ham supporter as well!?
My guess is 90 minutes tops. If I really need more than that I'll buy one of these.

Be careful, BrandonSi. That product can only output 80W AC. The M860TU's power supply demands a rated max of 120W. This means that the user will need to be careful when using their notebook beyond basic web surfing and typing. I think you can figure out the rest from here on, so I'll leave it at that.

Using that battery pack is the same as using an 80W power supply for the M860TU. The notebook is going to think it is plugged in and not restrict the power distribution like battery mode. I highly do not recommend it if you will be using it while you are using your notebook at the same time. It is fine to use it to recharge your primary battery while your notebook is off though.

Ah, damn. This thread is for the W860CU, not the M860TU. Thank you frederikm for not putting that W infront of it's name. Nevertheless, the battery applies to all notebooks using a power supply exceeding 80W, which pretty much covers all current Clevo notebooks.

I just copy pasted from the kobalt computors site...
In the end I'm think to go for the w760cu instead, as that one has a lower power consumption AND a much better battery..
My laptop is just for business, not for gaming so the gpu is of little concern.
