I'm thinking about buying a new computer. I want a laptop for the portability, but I will always be near a power outlet.

I've got my eyes mostly on the 860cu, why? I read notebookchecks review of it, and it has a superb screen. Also I would be able to save a little

I'm going to buy from deviltech, with the following specs

    i7-720qm
    4 gigs of ram
    5870
    250gb/320gb harddrive

This is already quite costly, the 870cu will cost me 1800€ with shipping. I could save about 150€ by getting 860cu instead, but how is the cooling and temperatures? I don't know about the 870cu's screen, but is it just as good as the one on 860cu? I prefer the 870cu, but if it has inferior screen quality I would reconsider my choice

Is there anything about the 860cu, which makes it "better"?
(apart from obvious things like size)

The W860CU and W870CU are practically identical. The W870CU has space for two hard drives by default, which gives you RAID as an option. The cooling in both laptops is great. I personally like the design of the W860CU better.

I personally do not recommend Deviltech, they promised to deliver the W860CU with the MR 5870 in early february, when in fact the card was nowhere available and they ought to have known that - just like every other honest reseller did. They just put it on their site as an option before it was available to catch customers, much like Eurocom does all the time. But that is just my impression. However you get the same laptop with a non-glare display at mySN for the same price. The super glossy screen is the only thing that can bother you about the W860CU display, however, if you do not plan on using it in the sun (outside) or in a very light room, non-glare is not that important.

You could also wait for the W880CU and see if the screen quality improved. However, the main reason to buy the W880CU will probably be the GTX 480M, but then the laptop will cost like 2200 euro +

The screen in my W870CU is a Hannstar HSD173UW1, which is a 17.3" 1920x1080 model and is excellent - probably the best notebook screen I've had. So you should have no reservations in that regard. As Daniel Hahn said, the two notebooks are nearly identical. The larger screen and the second hard drive were deciding factors for me, but you cannot go wrong with either one. I have been delighted with my W870CU.

I won't be buying from mySN, since they havn't got danish keyboards(also they're slightly more expensive)

The cheapest place I found, was kobalt computers in UK, but they had terrible long shipping times (2 weeks +), it was rougly 150€ cheaper than deviltech

They're basically the same machine, in two different sizes.

It really just comes down to whether you want the larger screen.

Cooling on either model won't be a problem. My 860cu is sitting idle at 42C for the GPU, 43C for the CPU Cores and 33C for the HDD and room temp is 24.3C. So as mentioned before, it just comes down to what size you want.

You could try Tesla Notebooks from UK. They're a new reseller so I have yet to see my opinion of them; however their website looks pretty professional.
