Important: All of you pleople that have Geforce 8800M GTX graphics card in
    Clevo laptop (D901C or M570RU)
If you have different version of 8800M GTX BIOS from these ones:

    62.92.23.00.04
    62.92.23.00.12
    62.92.23.00.14
    62.92.34.00.08
    62.92.40.00.18

    PLEASE UPLOAD IT HERE...

I ask you to do this because this way we can be able to find
some bios version that may allow us to overclock our cards much
    more..

the very stable is 34.00.08 for now with most stable clock at
    Core: 630-650
    Shaders: 1600-1650
    Memory: 980-1050
but 8800M GTX are capable to take much more higher clock we can
do this if we are able to find bios that allow us actually change the voltage
    to 1,10 or 1,15

    650/1650/1050 ? ARE YOU SERIOUS ?
You have to up the voltage a lot for that much, and I don`t even want to think what an SLI rig will have to endure in terms of heat...

the heat is not a problem for D901C :) not even close to issue
    BIOS version 62.92.34.00.08 at clock
    Core: 630
    Shaders: 1600
    Memory: 980
in Crysis 2 hours of playing my max temps never exceed 58C
i have very good custom external cooling + laptop fans at max
i never reach 60C in SLI
i even manage to clock it to

    Core: 680
    Shaders: 1750
    Memory: 980
    in bios version 62.92.40.00.18
but this version have some bugs i think because after a couple of minutes
the video driver stop to responding and game freeze for few seconds
i try it with 4 diff drivers the effect it the same even with stock clock
and with these clock the temps in Crysis are the same even i manage to play only 15min without a crash

that way i look for other bios version because this version 40.00.18 is capable to change the voltage but is not stable even in stock clocks
if there is a version like this that dont have this problem we will be
able to overclock our card more than..
    Core 700
    Shaders 1750
memory is not effected by the core voltage but can be clocked stable
    to 1050 even more maybe

62.92.40.00.18 this version is very new and i think that it has to be some other version with new
buyed laptops if some one that have buy D901C recently probably have even more newer version
than this one maybe without the problem

if you dont believe me for the temps this is my custom cooling the fans are below laptop fans
and blows cool air right into them

Veeery nice! Have you been able to OC the CPU as well? The last thing I recall reading on that viz. the Q6700 was that it was not (yet) known how to OC it, as opposed to the Q6600.

    Hi,

I also belive that D900/901C is the fastest laptop on this planet, but why Dell 1730 is on top in 3DMark06 and 3D Mark Vantage on Futuremark web site for 8800M GTX? Any ideas? Mayby it's a stupid questions but can somebody explain? Ok cards are the same 8800M GTX SLI but were is advantage in 1333MHZ FSB and Quadro Cores and 800Mhz RAM? Looks like OC settings are on the same level?
    Top is 15009 3D Marks.

I have a E8400 cpu, which maybe causes a limitation for oc due to 1333 FSB? Got bios and plenty of help from GanGstaOne [thanks man]. Using 34.00.08 modded for 1.05v. Spent about four hours last night trying to max the 8800 SLI speeds. Setting memory clock low, I found that the best Core/Shader speed combo was 630/1470. Memory clock was then moved up to 630/1470/950 result. I then tried pushing each of these numbers individually by +3, and each addition resulted in a crash [hangs] in the hollow log area of the forest section test of 3dMark. Note: it is also stable at 574/1480/899. So an increase in shader forces large decreases in core and memory.

My best PcMark05 to date -> 8920. And my best 3dMark06 run is 14,268.
If I could press an oc on the E8400, I'm sure that I could break into the 15K.

Is there a 1.10v modded Bios available for testing?

Test results at 574/1480/899 for 3dMark06 is about 14178... So the gain from this setting to 630/1470/950 is only 90 points in this test....

I would like to know this too. It seems the folks that have the Q9550 now and 8800GTX SLI are breaking or very close to 14k but it also seems the Dell folks with the X9000 (not quad) OC'd are getting closer to 15k. Does that mean that the Dell PC is still faster than the Sager despite the quad? It would seem even with a lower clock the processor in the Sager should be much superior with twice the cache etc..

I have seen some scores from "3d vantage" I think it is that had the Sager ahead by a bit... still confusing..

    Hi,

My best 3D Mark 06 run is 10584 with GPU OC to 600 1500 900 and CPU OC to 2.625GHz (yes, both GPU and CPU OC) but with this settings Crysis crashes after app. 10min (GPU temp 77deg C) of play and fps increase is very little (max 1fps) comparing to GPU OC (600 1500 900) only. I've never try to run 3D Mark 06 with CPU OC only, but score might be higher according to Nirvana's research. 3D Mark Vantage score with GPU OC only (600 1500 900) is P4108 (CPU5071 and GPU 3863), don't know really if this score is good or bad for my rig.

for every card and bios you the basic is that you just have to playing
with bios very long time and do many test to realy know what can and cant do your card and bios version...
    i will try to explain

Now our card can be clocked at very higher something like
    Core: 700-800
    Shaders:1750-1950
    Memory:1000-1100
but for every card is different as i say but the basic is this
now with bios version is other thing our bios version is locked for max voltage 1,05 and this allow as to clock little more than 600-1500 (memory is not affected by the Core voltage)
but with little playing with bios we can go up to:
    Core: 630-650
    Shaders: 1600-1650
this can be done by set higher voltage in voltage table where is set 1,05
we set it to 1,10 or 1,15 this not affect the core real voltage it stay at 1,05
but allow us to go little more higher than clocks for 1,05 voltage
this way we just lie the bios i dont know how to explain in other way
but i dont think that this will do with all cards
this is allfor our card overclocking if some one of you want clocked bios
just want it i will give you with what clocks you want
but i recommend to use this one is most stable version and
probably will work stable for most of you

    Thanks GanGstaOne,

I know what you mean. I think I know the reason, looks like Dell XPS 1730 owners can easily OC GPU and CPU together. Noticed that the top one (15009) is running CPU C2E at 3.4 and GPU at 665 ???? 975. Intresting...
Sorry again for spoiling your thread. Good luck!!! I hope you will soon break 15k!!!!
