I just cant get it to boot to windows, is there any other way
to fix this problem besides re-formatting it?

I've uploaded a video of it so that you could see the problem clearer
compared to when I describe it.

As you can see, every single time i tried to log in to windows,
it just shows this blue screen for a brief moment before it decides to restart and the cycle went on :(

have you tried inserting your windows disk, and when the setup starts choosing the repair option?
you could go to repair console and just do a chkdsk /R which generally fixes most of these problems :)

and select 'repair' right? and then later it goes to this c command prompt
    ms dos thingy~

    so i just type 'chkdsk /r' ?

try to go into Safe Mode (keep tapping F8 as the system turns on).

Then if you get into Safe Mode, go to START > RUN
    - type CMD, press enter
    - (now in command prompt) type CHKDSK C: /F

If you cannot get into... then:

    1) get your Windows XP CD, then let autoboot.... and go to the Recovery Console...
    - then type CHKDSK C: /F

If you cannot get that far...

    2) download ERD Commander (its now acquired by Microsoft), and burn the ISO file onto a blank CD.
    - let it autoboot
    - go into command prompt
    - type CHKDSK C: /F

bad sectors on the disk, booo, maybe the best action is to buy another hdd
and an enclosure, and swap out the hdd's in the notebook, put the old one in the enclosure and recover your files once you have installed windows on the new disk.

The hard drive might not last long if you get it to boot, could be on its way out

I think its more like that there are software errors on the HDD that needs to by fixed... by CHKDSK.

His video of the BSOD seems to be software errors/conflicts.

In the unlikelihood of HDD damage, which can be determine using HDD diagnostics from the manufacturer or third-party software... then replacing the HDD would be best.

When useing the repair option on the windows disk, You have to choose the repair option the SECOND time is comes up, not the first time. then it will repair the files.

The first time it comes up, choose the install option.
